Ha - that's why I kept it - back then, and probably now, it would be less expensive to get a horse than it would be to get tack.

And the ropes will always come in handy.

Well for tying things on the car and as gate fasteners, what were ya'll thinking of??

You are so ornery!

Skyla loves the chickens/chicks and helps me wiht chores sometimes. Usualy I do them when i get home and she is still at school. Angel liked a silkie once, from a distance, thats about it with her lol. Course she hates living in the country also.

Speaking of turtles, I checked my turtle box today and found I still had some left from Easter so I unwrapped a couple and enjoyed the chewiest chocolatey, caramelly and pecan yummy there is.

Someone is a bad, bad boy dumping turtles in the lake. They bite fish hooks off to get to the bait and also will try to eat your fish before you get it out of the water.
Lake Bixhoma (Bixby Lake) used to have some huge turtles big as a sea turtle!

What is wrong with this picture is that you don't live in NE OK. where we had 1/2" of rain today and Claremore had an inch. This county hasn't done burn bans and we've got grass up to our buns and it's lush and green. I cringe every time they say rain cause we don't need it here. Got a neighbor trying to mow my buns-high grass but it won't quit raining long enough to get it done for me. He said he's gonna have to use the tractor and brushhog it after today and the next few days rains are over.
I hope you get some rain for a change. My friend in Chickasha got a little last week.

If 2 tons of feed doesn't last 3 months and you use all your paychecks for feed, just exactly when do you have time to go to work and to feed all these critters? Midnight by the light of the silvery moon? hee hee hee

Since it is never to early to plan for auctions, I saw the new sign on Hwy 62 just East of Harrah, for the River Chest poultry auction, on the 1st and 3rd Friday, beginning at 5:30. I called Pat Drew, who runs the auction, and learned that there were about 80 cages of birds at the last auction, so it appears to be growing.

Also, since this is the 3rd Saturday, Fletcher and Newcastle will have auctions on Saturday evening. Not that I "need" anything mind you.

There's a massive auction the first SAT of each month at the 412 auction in Inola. It's right on the 412 hwy and they have a huge covered area for all the rabbits and poultry. They have every kind of poultry imaginable! I think they avg. about 5-6,000 people in attendance each month.

P&B, you do need something....a huge pipeline to run from the feed store to your place, to give you a never-ending supply of feed

One can never feed a chicken addiction by downsizing!

Night y'all
