Matt, so sorry that you didn't have any of the mailed eggs hatch. Undoubtedly that is a disappointing and expensive situation.
On a more positive note - I have cheeps in the forced air hovabator that had eggs from Monty's birds. These are the eggs that I just put in without a turner and without turning them during incubation. They are sitting upright in egg cartons and I only added water twice during the 21 days. I haven't opened the incubator to count how many chicks there are, but whatever the hatch rate it will be better than the eggs in the two nests that were abandoned by the broody hens after about a week.
So, the myth that eggs can hatch without being turned constantly - is Confirmed.

Actually, I have read articles to that effect, that the necessity to constantly turn them is untrue. I think it was in Countryside and Small Stock Journal. The original concept that started the whole thing came from a flawed study.
But I'm too chicken to try it out.

todays humor had this tidbit:
Well, there was this blonde who just got sick and tired of all the blonde jokes. So one evening she went home and memorized all the state capitals.
Back in the office the next day, some guy started telling a dumb blonde joke. She interrupted him with a shrill announcement,
"I've had it up to here with these blonde jokes. I want you to know that this blonde went home last night and did something probably none of you could do...I memorized all the state capitals."

I'm sorry that your eggs didn't hatch.
Hope mine do better for you. Part of the shipping is the box not being marked good, not being big enough, and the eggs not being packaged properly. (At least that's my opinion!)
Here's a tip for folks...
Did you know that very small post offices stamp the boxes verifying that they contain hatching eggs, and this allows them to travel through other post offices, airports, ect... without being x-rayed? It's true. My post master told me that it's because they are small enough to know the person and they don't have those scanned slips to put on the boxes, and only use regular postage stamps. THIS IS NOT COMMON KNOWLEDGE.
I consider myself lucky to have a wonderful postmaster, and very small post office.. Only two employees. The postmaster, and the mail carrier.
