***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Got some walls building around us... Watching for funnels.... Tornado touched down at Ft. Cobb not far from here... Tahoe is parked inside of the barn.... calling for golfball size hail....

They are Buff Orpington hens with RR Red Roo, I need to seperate them and produce something other than mutts LOL

I really like how the Iron Hen turned out, the turner works great and fits perfect in that old fridge, the only thing I've really changed is I added another larger blower and used a dryer vent tube to carry that warm air all the way to the bottom so it can circulate back up more effeciently I discovered I had a cold spot so this should fix that.

Congratulations on your broodie hatch!

Wonder of wonder, when I checked for eggs...we had 4 Four FOUR....that means the hens are coming out of their freaky cycle and are going to lay again. Hadn't changed feed, but did Ivermec them for mites and worms and with the weird weather all 29 stopped laying at once. Never happened before...hope it never happens again. Store bought eggs just don't taste the same.

Great weather for working in the garden....murder on my nails since I don't like to wear gloves.

One of my red laced polish hens is a roo.... er er era oooo...needs to be perfected a little more.

Had to put Thor down. The Chantecler roo just never fully recovered from his battle with Studley.

City Clucks, Thank you for the kind note. Any get-together that can bring that many people together in one location for frolicking fun, fellowship with friendly folks, with fantastic food, fabulous fowl and furry fluffs ....should be encouraged by all of us. So many of us newbies need the support and mentoring of the experienced flock owners/breeders/fanciers. And children get the benefit of seeing so many different breeds and get hooked early on an exciting hobby....I was happy to help and look forward to meeting so many of you in the years to come.

Hi Okies
My wife and I are in Broken Arrow. We are just starting a new flock (as of March). Second time, had 8 Buff Orpingtons about 4 years ago. Now we have 5 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds, and 3 Black Australorps. We had 4 Australorps but had to put one down this morning. Had been sick and wasn't responding to treatment. First time either of us had to put down an animal. Very heartbreaking.
