***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Just sitting at work watching and reading about the storms Oklahoma is supposed to have across the state tonight. Several schools are even letting out early according to KTen! Amazing.

I just wanted to tell everyone to be careful and plan ahead so that if a storm may come, you will know what to do and where to go!

Hugs~

just moved brrody mom and kids back into the bathroom, reinforcing a couple bantycoops, don't have enough room for them inside- hmmm...i might just scoop them into a couple carriers for the night- still trying to coax the duck into a pen, and then i think we'll be set. You all stay safe!

on second thought- whats the point of reinforcing coops? the little ones are stashed in cages in the bathroom....

Had highwind and enough rain that my yard looked like a creek channel, and i live on a hill, it just couldnt run off fast enough. Had a tree comedown between the wifes van and my truck, missing both by a few feet on each side. That was lucky lol. Had 3 chickens in that tree and somehow they all 3 survived, must be cause there game lol. 2 of the hens spent the nite in the bathroom after we found them in the downed tree. The rooster was in the yard went igot home so he managed someone in that downed tree. Hope everyone else is safe and sound today and tonite. This year has seen the craziest weather in a long time.

Hello everyone,

I went out this morning after the storms last night to find that I had escapees from a pen in the chicken house. One of my Sebastopol goslings was out and both my white guineas! The gosling was fine and found one of the guineas sitting on some wire and after a quick search found the other 3/4 submerged in a mud hole being trampled by all the other chickens! It was cold as kraut and stretched out waiting to die! I scooped it up and brought it inside. After a warm bath and a blow dry it sat wrapped up in a warm towel gaining some much needed strength. I later returned it to the pen where it was glad to return to it's buddys! It then went over and took a drink and then started eating like nothing had happened! I am fairly new to raising poultry and I am doing the best I can. I guess this time it was the right thing or maybe the wrong thing and it worked anyway!
