***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okay, so a while back I had a wonderfully entertaining chicken dream in which Poultryand Bees gave me a tour of her place and I saw her huge llama-sized NN and we watched Dean quietly mucking out stalls in the large horse barn she had in my dream. So last night I had a chicken dream which featured another of my favorite Okies: Poco Pollo!

In real life, I have several chickens I got from Poco Pollo in mid-March and I have been watching one black Ameraucana in particular for signs of Roosterism. In last night's dream, I went out to check the chickens and realized that the black Ameraucana I'd been carefully inspecting each day was really a big black HORSE! It filled my chicken run. I wanted to keep it and planned to petition the City to allow me to keep a horse in my downtown chicken pen. In my dream I called Poco to tell her that one of the chicks from her Ameraucana hatch had feathered out as a full-grown equine, and asked if she wanted to buy it back per our agreement. True to her real-life nature, Poco responded: "I just want you to be happy with the quality of the birds you get from me!" Then I woke up.

There is no horse in the chicken run...and I still can't tell if the black Ameraucana is a rooster or not.

Thank You for being concerned Monty,
We managed to make it through everything with only minimal wind damage, it has been a long night checking in on friends in many areas of Ok. and Tx. it appears that a great numer of lives have been affected by the most recent storms. Our thoughts are with all of those who have losses either property or otherwise. I need to make a trip to chickasha to check on teh house down there and see how it did through this weather.

Glad you are okay Steph. Hope everything is okay with the other house too!

City you are too funny the way you dream about chickens!

Glad to hear everyone including chickens made it through last nights storms unharmed. Sorry about the property damage, but that can be fixed.

We got missed altogether here in Henryetta, it all went north of us.

Another big garden day planned, for me today. Yesterday I got half a bed de-grassed and all the asparagras planted, and finished up on the stawberries. I need to finish degrassing the one bed and plant corn and lentils.

Woke up to sunny blue skies today after last nights storm beating. No tornadoes here thankfully. My friend called early today from chickasha and said they are still w/o power. Her daughter lives in alex and was going to bring her an ice chest full of ice and things but nobody is allowed into chickasha who doesn't live there. Seems the people go in swarms to see the damage in the towns. So a neighbor in the apt. complex brought my friends some coffee this a.m. They were so glad. She told me the Atwoods took a hard hit and the apt complex that they almost rented in. This is her first tornado experience and she's still shaken up badly, talks about that loud roar. I have no memories of the roar of the F-5 I was in....I think shock took it all away, I only remember hearing glass as the windows exploded and that was it. But I sure hear the loud roar in my tornado nightmares! Hopefully not too much loss anywhere, it's so hard cleaning up from violent storms. I think we still have storm chances again today and then calmer for a while.
My cuz's BF and his kids are ok in Edmond, they got in the safe room during the piedmont storm and it missed him. Gotta go uncover my peppers and feed my chicky girls and open up their windows wide today. I got 14 eggs yesterday.

On hubby's computer cause my lapop battery is done for...going to go get a new one and pick hubby up from repair shop.
...he is driving the big tractor from Meeker to Shawnee...will take him an hour.

Praying they find that little child lost in Piedmont after the storms....

On a high note...hubby has been slowly recovering from his last surgery. He is finally off pain meds now for a week and has been SLEEPING with his trach plug on WITHOUT oxygen and his nebulizer. He thinks he has turned the corner to getting better...he has lost 25 pounds and feels great.
Praise the Lord!! And if he continues on this track, there is a good possibility the doctors will remove the trach tube peranently. He has another sleep study the middle of June and then a follow-up appointment. Then we will know for sure.
