***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hi Monty.
Guess I won't be the only person who is tired in the morning because I stayed up too late tonight.

Hi Maribeth,
Someone else was hogging the computer because the cord on her laptop broke.
So I had to get my BYC fix before I went to bed.
More chicks started hatching today.
Not sure where I am gonna put them all.

Both of my kids are at a church lock-in tonight. So I plan on sleeping late tomorrow.

Monty,
I share your pain on the lack of brooder space. I think however that I would be able to find/create more brooder space if you were to have NN chicks you want to sell.

I am sure we can work something out.
I think I am around a hundred or so already and should have several more in the next few days.
This may be my last hatch since most of my hens have gone on strike. I do have eggs under three broody hens though!

Jaxon and I may try and go for awhile on Saturday. We went to the livestock auction in Jones this evening and Jaxon had way too much fun playing with the other kids and watching all the livestock being unloaded.

He was listening and paying attention at the Fletcher auction when the announcement was made that there will no longer be an auction in Fletcher, but instead the next auction will be June 4 in Cement. He may have incorrectly recalled the name of the community, since he asked about the auction in "Sidewalk" but he sure remembers the date.

Thats funny! I have heard it concrete before but that is the first time I have heard it called sidewalk. "From the mouths of babes" huh!
I need to try and go to Jones sometime. I always forget.

I have turkey poults hatching beneath turkey hens, but I took the poults away and put them into a brooder, since the turkey mom's are sometimes good mothers - and often times not such good mothers. I have two brooders and 4 broody mama hens currently keeping chicks warm at night.

Do you remember the brooder I bought at a garage sale that is just like the one you have.
I have never put it together because I misplaced the instructions on how to put it together.
I don't dare tackle it without some instructions.

Jones is definately just for junk and horse related stuff these days. It was sad watching the horses come through the ring. I was reminded of TJ's NaNa's saying that "sometimes free ain't cheap enough", when some adult donkeys sold for $5 each this evening. There were also a distressing number of horses that sold for less than $80 this evening.
