Hello from Texas. Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day. I was trapped inside cleaning the house mostly today!!

But it was at the point of having to be done. Headed out to take care of birds and then to ride horses this evening. Hope everyone is recovering from the storms. We were so lucky not to have had any major damage from the tornado that came thru our area recently. It hit the end of our county road. It was scarey enough I wanted to run outside and grab my silkies and showgirls but Doc would not let me due to hail and lightning!!

Hello Okies and you few texans..lol.... Just got back from camping since last thursday was camping and riding in the mountains.. had a great time the weather was great so all went well

Hello everyone, I've spent most of this day mowing and cleaning the back yard, some planting too. I might take a few pics of my gardens, but don't expect much they were just planted and it is all new garden spots so it isn't even close to pristine, or finished.

It's been windy today, but for me that has been wonderfull since I push mow.

Well I got started on what will be six pens today, got hot and came in, will work on them a little at a time till I get them done. Kass I gave up on my garden, I still may have a few peppers, a squash and maybe a cucumber or two after the wind, rain and my horses got done with my garden, No tomato plants made it, It is getting too hot for me anyways, since I had the heat exhaustion attack last year it don't take much hot humid weather to do me in, I don't think I will be trying a garden again, I have a friend that gardens three acres of produce and has a greenhouse, I can buy from him and help work or support his business! Moved hens, had one two hens start hatching on one nest and the pen they were in was not chick proof so I took the one baby and put it in the brooder with some others and took the eggs and put them in the bottom tray of the incubator to hatch on out(They are games, Claret x Hatch) cute little yellow striped chick!!! Put some W Leghorn, B Aust., RIR, and NN eggs back under them and will separate and move one to a chick hatchout pen in a couple days!!! It is still windy as heck here!!! Did I mention I hate the wind blowing all the time!!!! Have a great evening all!!! Lynn

Oh my word what a busy day! But a good hard working one... Got the kids up and at em at 8am cleaning out the COOP and we will add the fresh hay tomorrow and some DE... just too windy today to get the Hay in there now. Mowed 2 acres out of our 4 Little Acres... and I came in with the only tan I will ever have... thanks to all the dirt flying back at me .

We lost one RIR we had got from POOPS ... some of the other chickens decided to squish her

Jeannie, you might consider getting a Narraganset poult that is several weeks old so that you can tell it is a tom. He will be big enough to court RoseAnn before you know it.
