Your birds are lucky to have a family that has put that much thought and work into their new home!

On another note

We will taking our remaining birds to the Durant Auction tomorrow night. Anyone want a shot at some nice birds this is the time.
I believe Grace has 7 or 8 WCB polish (3 roos and 4 hens), A trio of blue d'uccle, A pair of MF dUccle, one extra roo and one chick d'uccle, a trio of BTW Japanese, BTB Japanese roo. Wheaten OEG cockrel, Three Silkie roos (one white, one partridge, and one spash), two silkie/polish cross pullets, one quad of pekein ducks. All of these (but the two crosses) are SQ birds not culls.

I have decided to get rid of our laying flock as well. We have a beautiful BL Roo (Sampson)

and his four ladies. (These are also SQ birds).

Our other hens are: 1 White rock, 2 black Andalusian, one splash Ameraucana, and two crosses. All are laying now. I have been getting 7-8 eggs per day from the 9 hens and these are young hens.
I am going to try have all of these there tomorrow depending on the time it takes to round everyone up.

If I have space I may also take some of my pens. I have two A-frame grow out and four 8'X3'X3' tractors.

I'm so happy to hear the guineas are doing well for you. I miss seeing and hearing them. Vesta, our Great Pyrenees, never let them rest. She is great with chickens and ducks. I wonder what it is about guineas that didn't inspire her to be the protector. I hope some day to raise some more keets, with Vesta in close proximity, so that she may become their protector as well. We've see a lot of little snakes, giant beetles, and gross-out spiders. The guineas would have feasted on them. Maybe I need to turn a few of my extra roosters out for bug patrol.

Oh man I feel for you. That drilling and smoke and sound that drill makes, and the smell and taste, and the shots in the gum. Am I helping yet.

Seriously hope all goes well and you get to feeling better with the tooth. A toothache can wreck the whole body. I'll be praying for you.

It was not as hot today as yesterday. Fixed lunch instead of breakfast so I could work outside while it was cooler...got a lot done in the garden as well as laundry. Wet the area around the hen house and grow out pen twice today. And moved compost with the tractor to the garden. Cleaned out two beds and weeded another. Will plant shell beans tomorrow. Got a flower bed in the front yard weeded and watered the flowerbeds.

Delaware hen was wheeze whistling again the morning. She whistles on the exhale. Surgery may be the option if that seed doesn't cough up.

Would anyone be interested in some Polish roosters. The boys are going to have to go before they are old enough to move into the hen house. Still need to move out Studley Do-Right. The Australorp roo is getting quite large...no challenges yet, but I'm not wanting a repeat of losing a roo to Studley's dominance. Here's Studley:

I've had a busy day working around the yard. Bathed the dogs, weeded several beds, mulched a few others, mowed 1/3 of the back yard (its big and I push mow).

greybear, at least it isn't the eye doctor!!!!

I'd rather go to ANY Dr then the eye doctor.

He did say they were sizzle, combo silkie and frizzle, but because its head and neck are so bare, I was thinking maybe there was some NN in there too.

Sometimes frizzles look like they have bald spots in various places on their bodies. It doesn't look "bald" enough on its neck or shoulders to me, to be a NN - but I am still learning about NNs and certainly don't profess to be an expert on them.

Sometimes you get a "curly" out of frizzles. Its always best to breed your frizzles with something smooth as breeding two frizzles will cause "curlies". Theres not really anything wrong with a curly but its not desired by frizzle breeders because they will be somewhat naked and you want a good amount of frizzled feathers without any bare spots. As a rule of thumb silkies don't really make the best frizzled we tried it and they always looked more frazzled.

I didn't get home till after 9:30 tonight and forgot to check how many toes she had this am. Will have to remember to do it tomorrow. Im not planning on breeding any frizzles, I just think they look funky. Just wanted the one initially but donnie went used car salesman on me and I took home 5 chicks lol.
