***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Okay, so they aren't very big ears, but they do have ears. I'm not planning to milk their ears, and as far as I can tell (through voracious reading of books about milk goats) there is no correlation between the size of a goat's ears and the amount of milk she produces. I need to think of names. They are La Mancha, so characters from Don Quixote are appropriate. Too bad there aren't many female characters.

Hello all I am jane and live in Heavener, Southeastern Oklahoma its a beautiful part of the state....I am a peaceful person and enjoy watching my chickens just play.....really love my roos....have set some peafowl eggs just to see what happens...

Kaussuandra i scrolled down the page and when it stopped on a pic of your roo it actualy made my daughter scream a bit. Not sure what her problem is, she left the room right after. I think he is a handsome boy

She did say the hens are cute.

I bought birds off craigslist one time (1 bad time out of many good ones) and got a silkie with a runny eye. It has taken for freaking ever to get whatever i brought home out of my flock. I lost a ton of birds from it. So if you go to buy birds and see any sneezing, running nose or eyes or droopy looking birds anywhere, just walk away and even disinfect yoru shoes when you get home.

Forget who mentioned starting again with domineckers but these are one of my all time favorite breeds. My best hen (bossy) was a dominecker and she would just fly up on yoru shoulder ever time you stepped out into the yard, i sure do miss her.

Someone mentioned some columbian wyandottes pullets, i would jump on these if closer. Wyandottes are anothe rof my all time favorite breed, great layers and there comb doesnt get frostbit like the single come boys tend to.

Ha! For some strange reason I was expecting the goats to have big lop ears...I don't know why! I do believe smaller ears is a sign of intelligence.

You could feminize the Don Quixote names a bit...Donna-Q, Sancha (instead of Sancho), Dulcinea.

Welcome! Dh and I visited your area for the first time a few weeks ago. (We have only been in Oklahoma for 7 years.) We went to Beaver's Bend. SE OK is so beautiful!
