Hello, I live just over the border, but my husband works on a farm in Morrow, and I am over there a lot. Beautiful country.

Those are the same little monsters I am dealing with!!! Dish soap in a pray bottle kills the babies, I have been sqishing the adults too & crushing the little eggs.

Oh, Michiele,
We started with our chicken adventure in March of this year. We live in OKC (quietly) in a small tract development in the NE side. Nothing like 1/10 of an acre! BUT...we thought 4 would be just about right for us too - bantams at that. We have since "acquired" two juvenile Rhode Island red hens, and another RRR three week old chick along with two other in-between age RRRs and three unknown chicks about three weeks old! They all run about our small yard in a huge dog run and love our garden! love It is hard to imagine where we'd be with a whole ACRE of land!! lol jumpyD Hope you can keep your resolve.lol

Jan, That is great! Do you have any neighbor complaints? I worry about one neighbor. I figure we will bribe her with eggs:) I think we have restrictive covenants, but the neighborhood is 30 years old and no one seems to be following those anymore. It think we are ok, but I still worry...

We are going to see "Poco Pollo" Saturday to get some pullets. Knowing my hubby, we will come home with more pullets than we need. He will say, "Well, we might lose a few so lets get extra!" lol

When we first got chickens about a year ago, we wanted 20 and we still have 20, so it can be done!!!! lol I haven't added any more, but I would like to. Eventually probably next year we will get another chicken garden up and ready then we will add a few, I have my eye on two breeds to add to my EE, then I will likely raise any replacements we need from there, mixing the breeds up. B/c I like variety and suprise more then SOP, not that there is anything wrong w/ breeding for SOP, just not my cup of tea, and chicken genetics gives me a migraine! lol

Good Morning All !!!!!

Garry - Checked with Bill....He feels sure that
sweetness IS NOT my problem.........LOL

Our poor little "very late" garden is having
the same problems as lots of you are. I know
the dish soap/water spray is supposed to
work really well. Seems I remember you are
supposed to use a lemon or orange scented
dish liquid for the citrus scent....???? Need
to get some mixed. Don't want to use the
heavy chemical stuff if we can avoid it.

Need to send Langshanman a note about the
fall show. Sounds like we're going to have a
good BYC "Okies" turnout. We have always
enjoyed the Pryor shows.

Have a good one !
