Some nice Okies are getting rain 'cause we can see it all around us. Spitter patterns here in the carport. The rainbows earlier and the lighten show now goes well with the clean wet smell the winds blew in....

At 3:43pm today we hit 116.4 took a picture of the new record.

Went to town for antibiotics for six of my hens that are breathing hard..a little croupy. I bought Duramycin-10 to put in the water.
My notes for Duramycin-10 show 2 - 3 TBS to 5 gallons of water for two weeks. The girls will be separated tomorrow and I'll start the water regimin.

I also have Denagard 12.3 liquid concentrate on order because it's stronger and will be what I use if the Duramycin doesn't work. It's repeatable every three weeks. Notes say to use 2 cc per quart of water for 3 - 5 days.

We had a discussion after the sale at Blanchard last night about hatch rates this time of year. The consensus among those with much more experience than myself was that when the temperature goes over 90 degrees, the hatch rate goes down. I was glad to realize that my low hatch rate recently may not all be due to "operator error"

Our Games and NNs are droppings eggs daily and the roosters are doing what they need to do as we are setting them all and getting fantastic hatch rates. The incubator is in the coolest room of the house, bedroom, and where it gets constant attention by both of us.

I have Guinea Keets for sale in Collinsville (about 25 miles north of Tulsa). Prices are $3-$4. I am NPIP and I have pearl, lavender, buff dondotte, and a few others. Pm for more info! I have 40 or so avaliable.

OkChickens,I have been seeing baby gunieas at the auctions that they are calling"brown" I don't believe I have ever seen a "brown" grown guniea. They babys are sure enough brown. Almost bought some just see what their grown color would be.

Well we made it home about 9 pm. Hit lots of rain shopwers and that slowed traffic a lot. Got Granny in bed and we are about to do the same. Those day long drives are getting harder as we get older!lol
