Just ruined the night of three coons! It's really hard to hold a flashlight in one hand & aim, fire the .22 with the other!

One of my muscovy hens has babies hatching

It's been so hot she just stood over them parts of the time instead of sitting on them.

Its to early for "good morning" so I will just say Hello!
Been up all night,MIL has too! I finally had to shut the water off in her bathroom. Two rolls of toilet paper and every fifteen minute flushes is not doing our septic system any good! DD came over earlier tonight and between her and the wife they finally got her showered. It's obvious that she is farther along with her dementia than the SIL wants to admit. I don't see any alternative but a home but the two girls just can't bring themselves to do it. Difficult times.

Nana would you believe one of those escaped parakeets is still hanging around! I have a cage like you said fixed up so maybe I will get it yet. Supposed to go get two more from my breeder tomorrow evening.

One expert described it as having them be gone while they are still here, a long grief process while their bodies are still here. I feel like it is sand slipping thru my hands. In some ways it is harder to be living away from them but in other ways, that I feel very guilty about, it is easier.

I had the opportunity to observe "bully behavior" last night between the geese and runner ducks. I had 5 Pilgrim geese and 3 runner ducks in a dog run, since the geese are temporary residents at our house until my co-worker can pick them up. The 5 geese were forming a barrier between the ducks and the water and feed. I added food and water in another location and the geese were working together to block out the ducks from the second location as well. I finally grabbed the runner ducks and released them from the pen, since they will be easy to recapture after the geese have gone home. The ducks didn't waste much time in finding the second pen of runner ducks of a different color - and were pacing back and forth outside the second pen, talking to the different color of runners that are still captive.

I'm with him. Cats are my favorite. We have four, three in the house. DH said if it weren't for him I'd have 30 cats. My response was, "You think you are worth 30 cats!"

It would take a special, special man to be worth 30 cats. I feel the same way about cats. My goal in life is to die a crazy old cat lady. I have the first part down and working on the second, with 10 cats.... So Far!

my harvest this year has consisted of 1 tomato and 2 cukes...even with watering them
