***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Oh ya, I forgot to brag about my day yesterday. I had a home made dog box that I used to haul coon dogs in during the warm months that someone had gave to me several years ago. A guy called me that knew I no longer hunt and asked if I would sale it. Told him I would probable keep it to put chickens in. He told me he would trade 7 of the wire cattle panels for it he had on his trailor. (pretty sure he got them where he works (oilfield) and probable didnt have much in them) He made him some dog runs already and had these left over. I figure 7 panels were worth a lot more than my dog box for pens so I traded. I went to hook on to his trailor and another guy I know that used to have hounds called me and told me he had a 8x12 chainlink kennel he wanted out of his back yard. Said if I came got it, I could have it. So I took my panels on the borrowed trailor by and picked up my kennel. Had a pretty good day yesterday in the chicken pen getting. The only down side to this is I am thinking about moving back to Arapaho so I can help take care of my parants more. When I get ready to move, all these extra pens may be a headache then. Oh well will worry about that when the time comes. Guy

Are you still looking for red Naked Necks? My one NN is a roo and I have enough Cochin roos. I was hoping it would be a hen and it could keep it for contrast to all the feathery Cochins. This roo is mostly red with a couple of black feathers in its tail and a few black and red barred feathers in its wings. I'll take a pic and post it if you want to see. I am taking some birds to Blanchard this coming saturday and will take the roo if you don't want him. He is free to a good home.​

YEAh, we got a little rain today. 2/10 of an inch, sure is a lot cooler here today. I am so thankful. Have lost 12 chickens to this heat.

sorry for not posting in a couple days i have not read up on post to much going on right now


just whanted to let everry one know i will be taking a truck and trailer load and verry good birds from 3 to 6 mounths old to the auction at cenerton arkansass this saterday

i will be bringing all diferant breeds i just can't take care of all of them right now so if you are going to be in north east OK on saterday then please come to the sell i have to let them go but i would love it if some could stay in your conunity hope to see some of you this saterday at cenerton if you need directions i well be back on line latter tonight and will post then thanks for all the suport it means so much to me right now BANJO

Our rain for today was 1/4 inch so that makes 1.5 for the three days so far.

Chicken pens were really wet from the rain off the barn roof. The hen run is half water half soil the full length of the run. The teen pen had a hog wild mud puddle right in the middle and high ground on two sides so we took two wheel barrows piled high with three year old dry bermuda hay in to cover the slop. Will have to get some dirt in there and reslope that pen so water runs off better. It's been so dry since the pen was built we didn't survey it correctly. Always room for improvement.

[NANAKAT its always a pleasure when you and roger come by i enjoyed the visit very much ,my DW said thank you very much for the soap.I had 1.2 in. in my rain gauge and lots a happy birds.

Still playing catch-up on the chores the heat got me way way behind but it is getting better now, I can't beileve almost had put on a jacket this AM. it dropped down to 68 at one point here. I had some birds really enjoying it and others screaming that they didn't know the weather could do that (they were young birds).

How are you Don? I may come visit you soon if your going to be around.

My grandfather took me out in the pasture with the truck and trailer long before I was old enough for a DL and by the end of the day I could place a trailer anywhere that was at least 2 inches wider than the wheel wells. Just set up some cones or fence posts or use trees you'll get the hang of it pretty quick.
