***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I don't read so well this early. I couldn't figure out if you were gonna have one of LilSooner's show birds for dinner or if you were gonna cook the possum. Then I realized it was neither.

I am going to take advantage of the "cooler" weather and cloudy skies to day and put up some more shade cloth. Even if we don't have a lot of 100+ days the rest of this year, I am thinking the 90+ temps will likely be with us for another month. For those of you who understand how to read a Farmer's Almanac, did any of the various versions accurately predict the drought and high temps we had this summer?

I don't cook when it gets this hot outside. I figure my airconditioner is working hard enough w/o my making it work harder. (I do minimal cooking or microwave, but my oven hasn't even been turned on in 2 months.)

We got rain!

No pen building for me until later. Going to clean up my Eco & set some eggs.

Here's my favorite little hatchery Silkie at 1 wk and then today at 8 wks. She's so good about baths :) These Silkies are the 1st baby chickens I ever had.
I'm assuming she'll get even more fuzzier since she's still a baby. She may need a little chickie haircut when she's big.
