Is anyone on here able to transport a bird from here (Durant) to that show? It is one hen that I am selling, and the buyer would like her delivered there, but I will not be making the trip since I am not showing now.

Grace if we can get her here I will transport the last leg, or meet you somewhere between here and there to help make that happen. Just let me know what is needed as we get closer.

A whole lot of common sense in those. I like "Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads." I try to encourage my students to do that. It is a chalenge for a 12 to 14 year old. I tell them that I don't have time to "hate" anyone.

Thanks Michael and Robin. I know she's just a hatchery girl but I'm in it for personality and not show quality looks :)

I *almost* went yesterday AM, came so close! Then I got too scared of bringing some disease home to the babies I've got here and chickened out. That's the hazard of working in a vet office all those years I guess. Sigh.

The little Columbian Wyandotte is still doing okay inside. She has had several massages on her crop today and a little mineral oil tubed into her crop and in her water. She has started processing the food from her crop thru the day. She has been on a liquid diet today (vegetable broth and yogurt and honey) and will go back to the yogurt and crumbles tomorrow if she continue to poop good.

So happy I don't have to make her vomit. Had to do that about 5 years ago on a hen with an impacted sour crop...nasty job...but effective.

I don't adhere to the theory of cutting into the crop to clean it out...looks like that would cause more problems than necessary and a little cruel done with out some kind of anesthesia.

What kind of white pigeons, were they homers or meat birds. I would like to get some more of the big breeds in white, either more mondains, or utility kings etc.

One of the new little chicks I got a few days ago isn't doing very well. Please help! She's only a few weeks old. She is lethargic, can't or won't stand up, keeps her feet curled underneath her and feels skinny. I haven't seen her eat or drink anything, but she is pooping normal looking poo. What can I do help her?

I'm not much help but get her away from the others. See if you can get her to eat any yogart or wet crumbles, I had an adult that I had to put it in his beak to get him eating. Try dipping her beak in water to encourage her to drink, it could be the heat, the younger one's have a harder time regulating body temps. I hope someone will come along with more information for you.

Thanks. I"ll try the wet crumbles. I don't have any yogurt. Since I got her, she has been isolated in a spare bedroom of the house with the other one I got at the same time, so I don't think her problem is heat related.. The other chick seems fine. There are no visible injuries on her, and I've tried dipping her beak in the water bowl. If she's drinking, it's not very much.
