I had a blast watching the babies the 1st time they got to play in the dirt. They were filthy! And they'd zone out like they were in a trance during their dust baths. Strange little babies.
I hope you all are getting a bit of rain. We've had sprinkles off and on here in Tulsa.
My chickens are so silly. We are working on repairing fencing, and have the chain link rolled up on the ground. This morning, I looked out my bedroom and saw my GLW here:
All that wonderful, soft, green grass to sit on, and they choose the uncomfortable looking chain link.
I want to order my fruit tree's for this fall, can anyone recomend a place to get them? I plan to get a pear, apple(granny smith), cherry(bing) & one pecan(sumners) tree. Any information on verities that grow good for you would be helpful.

Close to use we have Sander's Nursery. Between Inola and Tulsa. They have a really good reputation. I don't know how far from you that is though, and I don't know if they deliver.

You need to research your cherry trees very closely, you will need a second cherry tree polenate the one you want. Most Cherry trees can not polenate themselves or from teh same variety so you will need to research teh Bing, and determine what the other varieties suggested are for polenators and then make sure the bing the can polenate one of them.

OH good point, I knew there was a reason I wanted something different with that one. There is one that is self pollinating so I might look into getting that one.....
My problem with the two local nurseries that I have found on the web is that the website isnt' easy to find what you are looking for when you don't know the propper names or your looking for information on the tree for the above reason.
Our Realtor hunting is done!... We have decided after much prayer and interviewing potential realtors our best bet was to go back to our friend who helped us buy our home in the first place..lol... and because they waive certain fees that some other Real Estate Company's charge... We have got to pinch every penny we can at this moment..lol and what helps is they also specialize in rental property should we go that route if the house and four acres doesnt sell before we leave.
Our home will officially be on the Market 6th September, which allows us two more weeks to finish the small cosmetic projects that are near completion and have that much needed yard sale to clear alot of the clutter out the way to make room for better showing... I am excited and sad at the same time(does that make me bipolar?lol) Excited to finally be rolling in a direction in regards to the house at this time... sad because it means we are that much closer to leaving the Great State of Oklahoma and moving east ward wearing a shirt that says "I LOVE NY"..lol!
Anyhoot, Mike D... We plan on being at the next blanchard auction... gonna bring what chickens we have left wandering around and anything else that we think will sell good there. If we end up needing your assistance I will give ya a holler... so thank you much for asking if we needed help...

Wish you the best of luck selling! As it cools off people will be looking more. Plus interest rates are still WAY low. The 5 birds I got from you are doing great. The maran hoped up in my lap today looking for treats. Think she is pretty comfortable out here!
