Glad you found us, whaere are you from?
I have a friend that may be hatching again now that it is supposed to cool down. I have some started birds but no chicks.

Evenin' everyone ... not too many on right now, but wanted to say hi and we are praying for that rain to "come on down" over the Metro area. It is beginning to look like the fires of hades have been waaay too close to our poor dry state!

Welcome to the BYC OKC III forum BCchick AND prath003! Its OK to ask about ducks on this forum. We have folks that raise all kinds of fowl. They are knowledgable and kindly willing to share their experience. If you've been monitoring some of the threads, you will have seen first hand what great facilitators several of our friends here are. There are even those who will teach you Chicken Math (a required subject for graduation), and those who will "help" you see how many more chickens you "need" and are willing to "assist you" in obtaining them!! See how good we are?

Anyway, glad you joined us!

Thanks for saving those nesting boxes, our girls were so happy to have a real place to snuggle down that they gave us two eggs today. I think they will be much more productive now that they are getting settled in and the weather's changing a bit.

We wanted to make Newcastle this evening, but dear husband was too tired

to go so we just stayed here in the cool and watched the girls out the back windows. We do love those silly birds! Well, getting late. Have a good night everyone.

And any other newbie I might have missed. I have a hard time keeping up with all that's going on here, it's a very busy thread. I'm new too, but the people here are amazingly helpful and just downright good people.

You'll enjoy getting to know them. I'm having a hard time keeping everyone straight, but I'm getting there.

Hope everyone got more rain than we did. Wet sidewalk was about all we got. I don't think I'm ever going to get any rain in my new rain gauge.

The good news is, it's definately cooler!

thanks Mitzi, i have several birds this summer that fought this, and each one responds different to various treatments- the roo had it real bad, the cochin girls are fine, the only holdout is rascal...

Where all the folks that went to the auctions. Want a report, sad because I didnt get to go. Oh well maybe in two weeks. Just cant do 2 auctions in one weekend. My wife is way beyond understanding when it comes to my hobby, but I wont push my luck that much. Me and her worked on pens all evening. Trying to get several small matingpens put together, so can keep the chickens here and get all my big pens moved to Arapaho, then move birds and breeding pens. It sounds good on paper, but am moving about 150 head of chickens (chickens that dont play well together) 70 miles. I love my games and will have them till I die. But times like this I wish I had the kind of chickens I could just throw in one big pen till moving was done. Oh well. I stepped out a few minutes ago and it was nice and cool. Hope it stays for awhile.
