Hope everyone is doing well today. It's hot again, but if the forecast is correct, that will change in a big hurry tomorrow. Still need the rain, too.

I've been collecting the rest of the materials needed to build a new coop for the past couple of days, so now it looks like I'll be able to get going with that soon.

Jarvis - a show-prep workshop / demo sounds like a great idea! Count me in!

Nanakat - I've never eaten bread & butter jalapenos but am willing to give them a try. When Carl does his show workshop, maybe he'll share so we can all try some ....

I've pickled jalapenos before, just not using that type of recipe. I use a bit of olive oil in my recipe, which gives the peppers a slightly different taste.

I've had a head cold for a few days but it's moving into my chest now. That's usually a bad sign because unfortunately I'm one of those people who gets pneumonia easily. Maybe I'll get lucky this time and it will just go away on its own.

The chickens are fed and watered, had lunch, now it's time to get some chores done, even if it's in slow motion.

I have an old Singer machine that still runs like a charm. You'll probably be pleased with yours for years to come.

After Carl and Steph left, hubby found the pear butter and made himself some toast...yummy!
Then we put the new coop in the teen pen and added pond dirt mixed with ash and 5% Seven to all the pen duster and turned on the mister for the BLRWs.

I'm sure you'll be back for more of your Wyandotte eggs before your workshop, so you can get another jar to share....pickle enabler is my new title.

Ok, I have not had any luck finding a sumatra rooster, or a red shouldered yokohama rooster. I guess I will just go hatchery stock, and order a few. They will just be for birds to run loose here and eat bugs, etc....now, does anyone know where you can find Fayoumis? They are supposed to be great free rangers and foragers....thanks

Twisted Feather Farms (Terry Britt) raise sumatra.

Banjo joe has silver duckwing & white yokohama.

Hatchery line yokohama are pretty weak. If you have any dormant sicknesses on your premises, they'll come down with it. Thats been my experience.
