***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I haven't taken this many notes since my research and analysis class.

Dude. I need bantams. NEED. You do know I'm copy/pasting these discussion points to give to James, right?

He listened to y'all about the rottweiler and now I have Brynna the Beautiful. I'm pretty sure he'll be swayed by your bantam points.

Of course, I'm still keeping the 5 BSL Mike found me, and the 2 LF partridge cochins. However, at that price and feed ratio, you've pretty much killed my argument against letting my kid have some bantams.

and why were you flirting with the pointy end??? you should know better than that!!

They get a little antsy when you are dripping in sweat and heart rate is over 200, makes medical types start poking holes! lol

The same as the most docile cochin you have ever had without the feathered feet to keep clean, or single comb to get frost bite.

you are doing a good job selling me on them! do you or anyone local have them???

off in another direction, my big coop is 10 x 10, i have 16 large fowl in there, how much room do the big ones really need, am thinking of sectioning it off for the winter

We had Black and Blue as of a few months ago, took several young to wayne, Sooner & Lil Sooner, Doc Henry, and some one else back at Poops. YonerOak has SilverLaced and Partridge, There are a few with Black, White, Golden Laced, Partridge, Silver Laced and Columbian in teh area. What I have coming in in Nov. Dec timeframe is very special and nearly unheard of in the US, so it may be a long while till I make any of them available. I do plan to add Both Black and Columbian in Bantam this fall too though, possibly White and Partridge.

Yeah, no cockerels/roos allowed, unfortunately. They violate a noise ordinance. I successfully kept two bantam cochins (MFC) roosters for a while, but had to keep them in my mudroom so their morning crowing wouldn't wake the neighbors.

It is very likely Mike nows where to get several good Bantam Wyandottes of a few different varieties, I know he and I discussed it not long ago. They are fairly common in Blanchard and Newcastle sales too. They do not often bring much at the sales it takes someone who really understands teh value of teh bird to spend very much for them.

Ahh, so you have a nice Female Rotty? They are wonderfull dogs, I will never own another breed again. if you ever decide you want some pups we have two outstanding males you could use as a sire.

I'll have to ask him. I can't usually get to the auctions, which really sucks because that means I miss out on a lot of stuff. I may see if someone will be willing to keep an eye out for me. I don't want to go hatchery if I don't have to, you know? Plus, I don't seem to do well with chicks. I leave that to James (the flirt!

I failed to answer your question Sorry Robin...

You have a 10x10 wich is 100 Sq. Ft. It has been sugested to allow 3sq ft per LF however I think it is really 5-5 1/2 per bird to keep them healthier and cleaner. Even at 3 sq ft of Run that is nearly 30 birds for the 100sq ft you have Given We use a 10x10 and subdivide them into 5x10 breeder pens with 6 birds in each side. It works well, however if we increase that by just 1 bird egg production drops badly. But the big birds we have a BIG even for thier breed so I would think if you have an average sized LF you would be fine with that.

Is anyone still running their bators?

Was wondering if anyone is expecting chicks anytime soon.

edited to add that I do not WANT chicks, I only wanted to know if anyone is raising any during the winter... I've done it before and I called myself crazy.
