Me, too! Do ya suppose we're both nuts....?
I got a pair of 6 month old Silver Laced Cochins from MJ yesterday. The hen is so teeny tiny and missing a toe on each foot so of course I fell in love with her right away

She huddles into the male who's 3 times her size. MJ, I forgot where you said you got them from so let me know when you get a chance. I may see what else he has.
We got a truck load of 4x4 cedar posts cut from my FIL's sawmill machine in Honobia, OK a few months back, they smell SO good! I kept changing how I wanted to do the turkey pen and re-measuring everything the past month. The older I get the harder time I have making a decision. We've started sinking the posts and are going to make the turkeys a 10'x20' covered pen plus quite a few 10' x 10' x 6' tall pens for chicken groups. It's going to be a fall & winter project because I'll have to save money up as I go for the stockade fence pickets & fencing. The pickets are 6" wide and rough cut, real pretty and if you buy them individually they're cheap and you can space them whatever distance you want then line them with hardware cloth or chicken wire. I wish I cared as much about fixing up the house & decorating the yard. Aquariums and chicken pens are just so much more.....FUN to me than fixing the house. I've always been that way.
I'll get a picture of the 2 I got from MJ and get it posted later, they're sweet babies!

She sounds like a doll! I got griped out by the partridge cochins this morning... I think I was a bit too early for them and they were complaining that I'd woke them up!

I need to do more work on my house, but instead I'm thinking of ways to work on the kennel/run and roofing it first.

Joe - Love the new photos. All the new birds from the GCSwap are eating like piggies and growing just as fast.

Michael - My FIL did a lot of dove hunting in South America (for business trips... lots of time was spent on the golf course for the same reason), but I doubt he's as good a marksman (markswoman?) as your daughter. Has she considered a career associated with marksmanship, hunting, or wildlife?

I have a pretty rooster who just crowed for the first time this morning. Since I'm in Tulsa, 91st and Memorial area, roosters aren't allowed in my backyard.

My heart is breaking. Polish is beautiful and sweet and loves to sit next to me in the mornings and have his chest scratched.

Are you really short on roosters? Would you like to make a home for my sweet boy?

Wait til you hear those 2 Partridge Cochins when they lay an egg lol! Jeez, some hens are noisier than roosters when it comes to egging. But their eggs are so BIG, I'd scream and holler, too

Sorry to hear you've got to rehome your roo...it's good to see other BYCers in the Tulsa area though!
