Glad to hear. My old cat, that was my companion when we lived in San Diego and DH was at sea ALOT, made it to almost 16 years. I still tear up when I think about him. I swear he could read my mind. He stayed right by my side when I had a 12 day migraine.

You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

Disclaimer: Some of the folks on this thread are addicted to hatching chickens, attending chicken auctions and otherwise acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, we my try to assist you in the acquisition of more birds than you have room to house - just one of the reasons we advocate "build bigger than you think you will need."

Jeannie, I am so sorry that none of us made it down to Fletcher for you party.
There are so many things going on each and every weekend in October, I meet myself coming and going.
Please post when you arrive at your new home and let us know you got there safely. I sincerely hope that this move is uneventful and that nothing is broken by the moving guys.
Hugs and prayers to you and your family as you begin this next chapter of your lives.

My dogs and chickens would've went nuts for raw meat at $5 a bag! What a deal. Minnows and crayfish are a good idea. The problem would be finding them in big enough quantities to make a difference in the chickens diet since most people have more than a few chickens. Any kind of fish is going to be super good for them. I get that cheap old Jack Mackeral in a can and mine go bonkers.

I think Coronation is a color pattern, all though I'm not sure. Sussex is a chicken breed.
I had dialup until 18 months ago, lord it was awful. In your web browser preferences just set it not to show images and the pages will load a lot faster without having to load all the images.I know it sucks not seeing the pictures but at least you can still read all the posts.

What a beautiful dog!

Thank you, MJ. He was wonderful. The Guinea birds used to lay on top of him and sleep. He'd hop up to go bark at something and the guineas would run behind him screaming at whatever he was barking at. Like they were backing him up

I'm trying to be a good student and work on my literary analysis due this week, but I keep thinking about the guy who made chicken swings and just had James go out and find me a few branches to cut down into swings.

Guy thinks I'm insane, I know it.
