Give me just a little bit, I assume bantams right?
Yep! Even if we don't end up with silkies, we WILL be ending up with bantam wyandottes. They may not be dun laced, but the kiddo likes BLR and the SL/GL.
You NEED to go to the show in Shawnee then.. there will be several varieties of bantam Wyandotte in th esales area and for sale out of the show coops when the show is over.
My Australorp hen Nasty Nestie Nellie has gone broodie on me. She has been a great mom even during winter months.
Carl, I slipped the BLRW eggs under her and got a peck on my hand for the effort...such a nasty girl, but if they are fertile, she is a great broodie and will do the job. There were already three eggs there so I marked them and let her keep them. All those are going to be Cochin cross. Then I gave her two CW eggs and a CW/Minorca cross as well. Will candle in 10 days and anything not growing will be removed. Should be a good enough sized clutch for her to brood. I keep a red light on in the hen house for just a little extra warmth. We will see.

We had already planned on going. I don't know if I'll be able to buy any since I won't be able to make it early, but we'll see.
