The 10th 2nd sat....

Nice pic Kass must be nice to still get stuff this late in the yr.....Macy is all ready a sleep ill have to show her to morow she wont's to plant a garden this spring ...

She definately should, I have loved it even though it was difficult during the hot dry time. This was my first year to really garden, w/ a full garden. I have puttered w/ planting a couple of tomatoes, peppers and squash some years, or planted a little garden and let it go to weeds, but this year I decided I was going to follow through and it was an awesome experience and I have a freezer full of veggies to eat all winter. Not to mention all the dehydrated ones.

Good morning Okieland! How is everyone??? I am not excited about going back to work! It has been a nice long weekend.
I hope everyone had a nice Thanks Giving! Michael, sorry I didn't return your text, I had some issues that day & just plain
forgot once I recovered.

Here's to having a wonderful Monday!!!!!

Wonderful harvest! We did not plant much this year and what we did plant didn't grow because of the drought. We just gave up on watering and tryinng to save it. When we did get some rain we got some jalapenos, and a few tiny tomatoes. Well there is always next year!

I would put Mama with the baby but there are 2 identical hens in that pen and now that the hen is off the nest I don't know which is which. I sure am learning as I go.
Baby chick is doing fine now that I put a mirror in the brooder. He/she isn't chirping pittifully and is eating and drinking.

If you have difficulty determining which hen hatched a chick in the future, put both hens on the ground with the chick(s) and see which one is able to call the chick to her. If both are able to call the chick you just need to select one of the hens to brood it. I love watching chicks run around until mama calls them and they immediately go to her.

I wish it were possible to raise all chicks with the mamma, it is so neat to watch them teach.

Okie friends I need something............ I am looking for gourd seeds that look like this.

I'm not either, they are calling them birdhouse where I got the picture but the birdhouse one's I already have don't have the ball shape on the neck.

Hey all, Got the computer back in shape so hopefully I can be on more. Hoipefully so. I know I have missed my chicken folks. Anyway . . .

I received word yesterday that set up for the Shawnee Show will be this Saturday at the Shawnee Expo Center. The powers that be know we have a strong "chicken" network so they want us to help get the word out.
Those wanting to help, are encouraged to come! Not sure what time but I am guessing they will start early. I will try and find the exact time.
