Breeders are working for more gold the more gold the better for a hen yours is nice

Joe, I'm trying to talk her outta her hen! I always need more! Most of the other hens I see look more like a cuckoo marans.

She laid her 1st egg today but it was cream colored. I think that means she's not a Marans, correct?

Lynn - sorry to hear about your last day at Mercruiser - that place has been there a long time and through many ups and downs. I can't believe Heather is 7 years old - they grow up so fast! Take care of yourself.

My Cochins have made nests for themselves all over their pen lol Hollowed out places dotted everywhere. They're still fascinated with this stuff. Not sure what it's going to do when it rains but I know it'll be a lot easier to rake it and toss it into the yard. And I like knowing they can eat all those little seeds. They think they're sleeping in food

Seeing your avatar made me smile. Did any of your hens have a hard molt? I've got three that look awful, and they aren't laying, but they're just as bossy as ever. I hope they grow feathers back quickly and get back to laying eggs.

The goldens are very hard to get dark eggs from. Some of the breeders are working on color while some are working on egg color. She still could be a marans, but the egg needs to be dark!
