Hey Shavon- i got my girls that came from you- what wonderful temperaments they have! You done good with them!

I'm gla that you are happy with them. If I'm not mistaken, the first picture that you post was the one that we called "Baby." She is smooth feathered, but has silkies genes. Her dad was silkied. All of her offspring have been silkied.

I still have some of my Silver Duckwing OEGB, if anyone is interested. I'm asking $10 each or $100 for all of them. There are 13 hens and 1 rooster. They are laying now.

My OEGB talk alot. Had a lady just sit & hold one at the last show so she could listen to it.

Carl are you surviving? What have you done with Steph? Did you lock her in the closet or just keeping her so busy she can't come visit? LOL.

Do you already have a motor? We tore out a whirlpool tub & I kept the motor off it. At first I was thinking the motor would work well for a plucker. Lmk if you need it I can bring it to the auction for you, figure if you can turn a rotisserie into an egg turner you shouldn't have a prob using the motor for a plucker! If you don't want it dd will prob just scrap it-- that child scrapped almost $400 worth of junk last month-- think she almost got all the metal cleaned up around here!

It would of course depend on the rpm's and horsepower of the motor as to whether or not I can use it for the plucker but I can always use a good motor really, I plan to be at Newcastle and blanchard auctions in the next couple weeks if you want to bring it to either one I should be there :)

It's 3450 amps-- 3/4 hp-- I know wizbang recommends 1 hp-- but seen others use as small as 1/2 hp-- they same the just can't throw 4 birds in @ a time. I plan on going to Newcastle Saturday-- dh says I can't bring any birds home-- but I can go look. I understand not bringing new birds - I actually have almost all my birds in one spot, to make winter chicken chores easier, and I am sure winter is close, right? No complaints. I have been loving this weather!

DD loved the silver duckwings she saw at the last show! I am tempted, but have been told by dh no new birds. When we moved out here he said we could have 60 birds-- now that we are @ 150 I knew it was only a matter of time before he objected. I am sure you will find a great home for them!

Kass I originally said I only wanted a tub plucker, my hope was I could kill then one of my DD would drop the bird in the scalder & plucker. Not sure about the kids using a drill based plucker, but dh has a monster drill he only uses to stir mud & paint with, it would pluck birds nicely I am sure. We would need to build something to mount the drill to, just to make it easier to use.

Jarvis- I do think the red meat makers are close to the French line- but there isn't alot of info on them since Nolls is word of mouth & they dn have a website.

I'm alive, just busy as all get out. Trying to get things set for the year, not nearly as easy as it sounds.
Inpsecting every bird on the place since the last molt, setting pens, going through young birds and setting test mate pens, planning the years breedings and timing for each one. All of this while dealing with life and kids throw our way.

You are well ahead of me considering I can't even get started planning! I will pick your brain when I am ready.

I got 3 OEGB from Carl this morning, man they're cool! They chattered at me all the way home, too

I really like that about this breed. I'll get pictures later.
I saw some Blue Wheaton boys he had and am seriously considering another pen so I can have a boy that color with some girls. Not to breed but just to enjoy. That's one of the prettiest colors I've ever seen on a bird.
I sure do like these guys.
Thanks, Carl!!

Oh... Wow... long time...
How long have I been gone?
Am I in any sort of trouble for disappearing for 7-ish months?
In other words....
HAI PEEPS!!!! I'S MISSED YOU!!!
