Oh I just love baby things. Something I love so much and yet I'm too scared of losing them so I deny myself. There's got to be some sort of psychoanalysis involved with that.
AllBreeds-what's Chumps?
Lesson of the Day: When you're filling their feeder don't turn turn your back and bend over in front of a teen-aged turkey boy.
Evidently in turkey language that action translates to "breed me"

They're so tiny all five could easily fit in my hand, with space left over.
You're going to get into raising bees? That sounds interesting. Is this a project for you or your DD?
Yes I plan to order tonight if I can get my list together. I have a man that lives across the road from me that I found out about through a friend, he was so nice & will mentor me while I get started. I am so excited! It will be my project, I'm sure DD will enjoy it too but it is for me.

Here's my little micro-man, 'Coco'. He is chocolate silkied micro. He tip-toes to crow...you see it, but not much comes out...like somebody hit the mute button.

Cool that is a project I'd like to start in the next couple of years.

Start looking now to find someone that can mentor you. It is really difficult to figure out everything you need but is better when you can ask someone or see it in person. If all goes well you will be able to see mine & I might know alittle. Poultry & bee's has been putting up with my questions for a couple of years now.

I figured I would start reading this year maybe find a class or something, and hopefully a mentor eventually. I need to find out if the town thing is an issue. I know there are no regulations against it, but what if any liability to bee stings / neighbors. I don't have a privacy fence so me being out in a bee suit would be obvious. And I want to get my garden plan working fully before I start another in depth project.
Robin, did you ever figure out what that odd thing on your chickens back side was?
My chickens are just now starting to lay again after an enmass first molt. Anyway yesterday I was around the coop all day and one of the times I was in the coop one of the girls had just laid a "soft" egg that broke on it's way out, the egg insides were in the nest and stuck to her tail fluff was the wet limp remains of the egg shell, but that got me to thinking about the pic you posted. If I had not been there and seen it and taken it off her, if it had dried there I think it would have looked very much like your pic.

I completely understand. I will be ordering & getting my stuff coming along with my bee's this spring. I have been reading & learning on & off for a year now but will start in earnest now. I have 2 books on my kindle & my new friend loaned me three.
My husband was alittle worried about "where I am going to put them" & my son is worried about having them in the first place. LOL.
