***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We are home now and settled in for the rest of the day. Roger's surgery went quickly...only 45 minutes. The doctor cut out a 1.5 cm wide wedge out of his lower lip and then stitched him back up. Ice has become his best friend. Soft foods for a week and stitches out next week. Any biopsy results will come then. Dr V. is "very certain we got it all".
Thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers.
I'm glad to hear it all went quick and smooth, will keep him in my thoughts.
how are you holding up?

Carl, I think you should get into Faverolles!

Nope, nothing fluffy or feather footed again.
I do not think I could do it, the Big cochins were plenty and will broke me on feather footed birds, keeping thier foot fethering together was a real pain. That and I dont like muffs or tuffs or beards, and that whole 5 toe thing, theres just something wrong there.

But hey, everyone can gripe and complain about me too, I don't take offense to much. I had a guy as me the other day how much I charged for birds, I told him some are not for sale at any price, some are not for sale to certian people. Bird price I base on the person more than the bird. I can make more birds but can't fix attitudes and personalities.

.When I sell at the swap and I see certain people wanting to buy, my price goes way up because I don't want to sell to them.

Then there are othrs that I'll almost give away the same bird because I know they'll care for them. Like you said, it almose depends on the person.

Carl I try to avoid Beach's. Folks may call the save the whale foundation and try to put me back in the water.

I'll have to surf the net for pictures then.. Maybe my old photo album from Panama would help..

I doubt that anyone would go that far Guy.

Went out early this morning to feed and water, fed scratch, fed all of the little buggers and decided I would wait to water till after I warmed back up. It has finnaly reached a whaping 32 degrees here so maybe by 2 or 3 I will get all the waters refilled.

there are several who have never purchased from me but have a lot of birds from me, others I will not allow on teh property or even talk to. Then there those guys that just think they can buy anything so long as that wallet is thick enough, and you know at times the wallet was. I enjoy the birds and do it more for that reason than any other. There are definetly those who do not appreciate what goes into making a good one or who thinkpairing two birds that were in a show makes good birds, it is often just the opposite. Two show birds bred to each other often have horrible results, and proper pairing makes a big difference. One of these days people will figure out there are no Show quality eggs except in an egg show.
some more serious breeders will allow a few eggs out to spread teh birds some but only after they have what they need for the year, but those folks are very few and far between as teh ability to control the quality escapes them when they release the eggs.
