***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Howdy, y'all in Okla. I currently have dual-state residency along with my fiance. We are moving there... right now living in Lousiana in a small farm (5 acres) and moving to our farm already bought (ours-120 acres) ;) Our farm near Ardmore, Okla. ;) so we Okies already ;) nice to meet y'all. I am on this forum alone, but we'll both be up 'n around Ardmore ;)

we got currently 8 hens and a rooster that dont match none of 'em, and a guinea fowl that used to have four others all her life. and ducks but they went to a pond in louisiana a few houses away and now down to one of ours all black male and theirs all white female ;) we didn't have a pond here but there we'll get a big lake and more ducks most likely. ;) y'all may be welcome to come down 'n shoot. we may get some geese too. I hope swans will come... just a few would do.

The rooster is an Okie, you see. We got him from Altus, Oklahoma farm store. Along with the ducks (5 one year, 5 another) first year, all female, second all male and one female was around the male ducklings but she disappeared too. And 3 other hens. I picked out two black chicks and they stayed black (one is my Minorca, Chipolla who is prob in the same group as the rooster who is half wyandotte and half brahma. and the others were bella all black with yellow stripes and she and her sister had stripes, the other is Brownie Mix. ;) I'll get their pics on here as soon as I can. all dem are Okie-birds ;) and so are our Guineas, which we got one and she's my best friend. Okie-birds ;) Black duck had a name, Heslee... next male duck I get will have same name.

We even have cats that are orange, under a year old, but big now, named Okie and Sooner. ;)

ten. red, Quail? Are you raiseing a large number of quail? I assume for teh freezer? If you happen to get a few hundred too many going don't be afraid to say something... I might know someone who would open thier wallet a bit for all the extras, freezer bound though no breeders needed.

I'll likely get with you later in the spring, i have so much going on right now and no real time to accomplish a great deal.

Thanks all for your help . I will be there !

Most of the BYCers here hang out towards the back of the room, Jerry at Blanchard and Scoots at New Castle both set up tables at the back for us...be sure to introduce yourself! I'm sure someone will have a "POOPS" t-shirt on, just look for anyone wearing one and go from there

Look forward to seeing you there!
