***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Glad you got signed up! I haven't completely ruled it out but not planning to at this moment. When will you be looking at getting bee's?

The class begins this Saturday and ends February 11th, so some time between now and the middle of February I will be able to answer your question. Do you already have bees? I've seen a lot of bee websites, and many sell bees and ship them through the regular mail. I'm hoping to get a lot of good information from the class so that I can establish my hives and keep them productive.

Whizbang Update: DB sent me photos of his progress. He is determined to make rather than buy prefabricated parts, so some of the photos show how he's designing them. Too cool.

I got my Hive kit yesterday, I ordered from Walter Kelly Co. My bee's won't come until April 7th. I have ordered 3lb package & queen. I have read 3 books, been to every website & forum but found one that really interested me the other day, I will send you the link. This person not only talks of raising them without chemicals but also things about using all mediums for those of us that can't lift as much. I have alot of questions for my mentor when I see him this weekend, he may get tired of me.

I hope not! He really showed me alot in my visit. Loaned me three books, magazines & catalogs so I figure he enjoyed it as much as I did. His wife said he loved to talk about bee's.

I hope the board isn't dead today. It helps make my day go by faster when it isn't. I really want it to go by so I can go home & get my hive put together & paint it this weekend.

Just thought everyone might want to see this again......If anyone has any other post them for us.

What shows will you and Lil-Sooner be attending? I have a crazy work schedule at the moment and am trying to figure out to make a few.
Did everyone realize March 4th is a Sunday? Are you sure it is not the 3rd?

Hi! I am new to the backyard chickens, but have had backyard chickens for a few years now. I live in Newcastle OK and love the americanas as well as the marans. My son, who is 8, has been wanting a Turken for a long time now. Is there anyone out there that might be able to sell me one or two? I dont have the ability to hatch, and would rather get a young chicken than a chick as we have a cat living indoors recovering from what we think was a coyote attack.

Also, I have tried PM'ing myself to see if it works, but I never get any messages - so dont think I am sending them out. Any ideas?

Thanks! :)
