***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The baby on the left looks like spun gold with fluffy feet! What a beautiful color. If you have lots of eating eggs you might try The Queen's Quiche. I'll look for the recipe. I had it and lost it several times. I short cut most of the preparation when I make it, mostly because i don't have a butler, cook, or chef to boss around. I made it the last time our grand daughter stayed with us, and she was impressed that it wasn't mushy. I'm going to go find the recipe. It's already bugging me.

I found it! I don't do tuna as a garnish, but the rest is really, really good. Here's a link to the recipe.

I make quiche fairly often. That is what I did last week. I make my own pie crust since I only eat whole wheat flour. Quiche is very simple to make and should never be runny. Of course I do not eat tuna or meat but there are lots of tasty things to put in quiche.

Well, lost the little ee hen, she just couldn't keep fighting, the only birds that got sick were the free ranged ones, so everyone will be locked up - must be something out there they are getting into- she was only 3...glad i'll be getting some of joes eggs- that'll perk me up!!LOL! the other two hens have gotten better, not sure if it was the same thing or not- and the little micro hen i got from june laid her first egg... can you guess which one??

the one on top is an orp the one on the left is normal serama size

They've started back up again? Did they raise the setup fee? It was $5 last year.

they posted an ad here sometime back, setup fee was 10 bucks..

dont know if anyone went, nothing on their facebook page about it'

heard Last year it wasnt worth the trip.

some peoploe that went there were in pryor saturday, and the ones that went last year said they would drive on to mary's in okc this year.

Saturday we visited the new Nursery open on Post rd. along I40. They have a beautiful big birdcage for sale: 7' x 6' x about 18" deep. It has wheels, several levels in it that can be raised or lowered, and many doors. They had Finches in it but decided not to keep it. They want $700.00, alot of money but it is very beautiful, convenient and would be perfect for Seramas.

We also stopped by Mary's Swap and saw Michael and he said lots of people were buying Chickens.

So very cool! Thank you so much, these are our first hatchlings from our own stock! We may have court that day to finalize our son's adoption (after 18 years in the works) but we will be there to pick them up : )

No rush.. I can set them out another day if needed. I might need to put them in the brooder, heck if you send curtis, they might be laying eggs by the time we are done talking..

First I want to thank everyone for the kind words during a time when they are needed. Family has all gone home and now we start back to the day to day stuff. Took a good deal of time to catch up on the pages of posts lots of good reading. All my birds are doing great, and all the chicks in the brooders are doing great. Tomorrow I head down to see Buster, I am excited. Be a nice drive and get to see some neat stuff.
