***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Wet and windy morning here. I'm in for a second cup of coffee. I hope this clears up. I was hoping to get some trees planted this afternoon. I'm glad I didn't put any of my sprouted veggies out yet. This wind would have torn them to pieces.

Is anybody going to the sale in Coweta on March 16th. I know it's a week away, but I'm finding my calendar fills up so fast that writing everything down is a requirement, otherwise I don't get things done.

My hens are laying well. I've only got one broody, a Silkie, but maybe more will decide to set. A friend sent me a picture of a broody; looks like she's on a work bench or shop table.

LOL @ traps instead of tarps!

I may try to make the Coweta sale if nothing comes up between now & then. Nothing on the calendar at this point.

Army wife the birds will be fine penned up. If I went down to check on my birds now half of them would be on their perches trying to nap.... Same way us humans try to stay curled up in bed on cold rainy days.

I am curious to know how much rain we received. My artichokes seedlings have been outside in 4 inch pots for almost a week. I did provide them a small wind break, but kinda nervous the rain may kill them. They never showed distress from the wind, I was nervous for them since 30+ mph winds arent good for anything. So far I am very impressed with the artichokes! Hope they keep doing well.

I cleaned out a closet first thing today. Anyone interested in a few yrs worth of family fun magaizine My girls only want to keep the annual issues that have cake ideas. I have most issues since 2009. If nobody wants them i will put them in the recycle pile.
I have been doing some sewing this morning. Working on making some fabric bandana type liners for farmers market display baskets. I already had plenty of fabric, but as cheap as bandanas are, maybe I should have just bought them. My serger isnt giving me any problems & all is going smooth. Using a roll hem on the server is much faster & less work than using my sewing machine, but it is a rare occasion that I use the serger without any melt downs. Maybe we are finally becoming friends?

Hope everyone makes the best of the wet weather. We are having chili for dinner-- nothing like a cold rainy day as an excuse to eat frito pie.

Thanks. I brought the little ones in and let the big ones out in the yard. I'm watching pretty close. Yesterday I was here watching and it happened right under my nose. When I opened the door the big ones flew out of the coop like they do every morning, not sure if that is because they wanted out or because they wanted there daily treat.

Hi everyone! Enjoying this much needed rain?? I am new here and was wondering if there are any fellow Okies on here that would know where I could possibly get some black or blue AMS?

That's what I ordered a few years back. I think that Myers hatchery is in Ohio. I've heard a lot of good things about them, but when I was about to place an order with them, I found a better bargan at Mt Healthy hatchery that could ship that week, also in Ohio. They have a nice selection of package deals for eaten birds. If you would like to check it out, their web site is http://www.mthealthy.com/

I would NOT order from Mt Healthy again. Bought 150 chicks last spring. Within a week their salmonella outbreak hit the news. They never communicated with me about the outbreak. Not even an email. That is very poor customer service IMO.

Very pretty cat, we have 2 black cats but they are all fuzz. I don't think I could get ours to pose if I tried one is to good for us to talk to, and the other is so spastic she is never still. We thought getting her fixed would calm her but nope, lol.
