***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good morning everyone. Just got in from checking on my goats. Got one expecting.

While I was watching them all eat I got to looking at the area by their pens. It's covered and has support beams up. And it's just a big unused space. Got two walls (its the back of the barn) and all I would need to do it put up some more tin about half way and the rest chicken wire and throw down straw and some places to roost and some nesting boxes and man. I could buy some chickens....actual chickens! Since you know according to chicken math I don' actually own any chickens since mine don't lay eggs yet. But then we would have three coops!

This is bad. What have I gotten myself into??

BBacres, the babies are adorable! The colored eggs and basket are the perfect accesories for the picture.
Nana, the building is truly wonderful. I wish my husband could do carpentry as well as engines. Using the clear panels as walls is good and gives me a few ideas.
Jim, pick your battles or you'll wear yourself thin :)

see, an auction buddy! just what you needed!

lol I do need one!! I wouldn't even know what is considered a good price or too much! I keep thinking about that Buff Op pair. Man they were gorgeous. My daughter wanted to take the whole lot of partridge silkies home. All I could think was we got 54 silkie eggs in the bator at home. But she wants Partridge Silkies so bad.

New to the site - new to the forums... reading and lot learning a lot - looking and loving it! I have a lot of great little chicks and they are all growing like crazy - here to learn all I can!

from another blanchard chicken fan. What type of chicks do you have and what can we help you to get.

I met a neighbor who lives about four houses away from me at Newcastle last night. I had never met them before. You never know who you will meet at auctions.I think buyers and sellers were both happy with Newcastle last night. There was a white peacock, it was a beautiful bird, sold for $95.. Some game roo's went between $30 and $40, quite a few New Hampshire Reds hens went between $13 and $17.

I want to get a pea bird one of these days, just to jazz up the place a little. I love that call they do. Is that the peahen or peacock that makes that haunting jungle sound? Or is it both?

We won't be at the next one but the one after holler and we will plan on finding each other there. I am slowly learning everyone from here. Once you get into it, it can be dangerous. Of course I can blame my husband because he enables me to buy what I do, lol.
Do you mean the one next weekend in Blanchard or the next auction in Newcastle the following weekend?? lol
