***OKIES in the BYC III ***

It's been a long day working in the garden, got quite a bit planted got lots more to plant, I didn't water anything in thinking it was going to rain, but so far not and it doesn't look like it will tonight. Whoever told me direct seeded tomatoes will catch up to transplanted I hope your right since over half my tomatoes are going to be direct seeded I started them 3 times and lost them all three times. The last time I used banjoes idea of the plastic greenhouse which was working great then a rodent (the same one that ate my meal worms) got in and destroyed the seedlings. urg!!!!! I fed him to the chickens!!! (need a smiley w/ an evil laugh) I have some peppers in the plastic greenhouse, but they are no where near big enough to put out yet, we'll see how that goes. Okla I got about 1/2 of the vining okra planted today and all the real okra, I'm hoping the chickens are more impressed w/ the red okra pods then they were the green.

I keep checking on the lone chick, she really likes the feather duster and is drinking well, not so sure about how much she is eating though, don't think she is out of the woods yet. Still haven't made contact w/ the hatchery, even though I called several times throughout the day, they are really aggitating me.

NoCity, I was just reading about it and I think it is too soon to tell. They're just 2 wks Wed, it seems you have to wait til they get their body feathers so that'll be a few more wks. I've never known chicks so calm!
Waye, would that really work to haul them to the auction? Or would I come home with more than I left the house with???
Kass, that poor little baby. I take it she'll be safe from slaughter if she makes it though. I got my Silkies from Ideal last year and they were great with communication. Emailed me and called me both the day the chicks shipped. Also called to verify my order because I ordered online.

Been rainy so hard here not much moving. Just made a pass outside and all is well. Trouble with rain, I will have to reset all my steel traps later today. At least so far tonight all birds are still here.

Kane it sounds like you need to load up a bunch of Roos and head to an auction!lol
Cowboy hope you catch your varmint tonight, that's so frustrating to loose good birds that way. What neat toys did you get at Tandy? Haven't seen a Tandy catalog in years. Need to order me one. Just what I need another hobby! Lol

They were having a big sale beings they moved to a new location ( which is much easier to get to for me). I bought some clutch purse kits and stuff like that. Leather kits have got so expensive, then tack on all the labor involved to tool and build something. It is no wonder people buy the cheaper foreign made products.
