Yummmmmmmm -
Maybe we should "sample" creative recipes that use up allot of extra eggs at POOPS or N.E.O.C.S.?
Lots of posts today/tonight. Can't keep up with it all, so am starting at the end.
One of the Serama babies that hatched in February died last night. It had developed some sort of leg problem. Not sure it if was injured or what, but didn't expect it to live. Poor little thing. I felt bad for it.
It sure was nice out today. I opened the windows in the house and got some nice, fresh breezes through here. I love fresh spring air.
Had another realtor visit today. I didn't realize what it took to find someone who takes a real interest in selling a home these days. I have a good feeling about this one, though, so I hope it works out. I'm ready to get this house sold so I can move on. I'm ready for a new environment.
I'm excited about POOPS and NEOCS! Looking forward to both events.
Great looking big birds Joe! Are they heavy or is it all feathers? That sliver laced cochin behind them in one pic is a beauty also! How many chicks have you got on the ground ,or in boxes, now? Still no luck on my hamburgs laying. She layed one egg two weeks ago and thats been it! Haven't changed feed or anything,My columbian rock did the same thing,as a mattter of fact they both layed the one egg on the same day!
After finally getting my parakeets into their summer avairy so I could watch them ,I had to wrap it because we are supposed to have storms and colder winds blowing in the next few days.
Life is so cruel! This morning I was out in the yard pulling weeds when I looked up and two beautiful german shepard pups about six months old came around the corner of the house. I knew they had wondered off because they had collars. I'm talking show quality shepards! I didn't want them getting run over or stolen so I locked them in my kennel and went looking for the owner. Finally found the lady down the road about half a mile. She was franticly searching for them. They are new neighbors, just bought a huge Mcmansion, but she has a beautiful garden started. So when she came back to the house to get them she was amased at all my critters. We chatted and I ended up giving her a bunch of seeds for her garden. Very nice young preppy lady getting into the farm life. Now the cruel part. I have been dieting very hard since the last Dr.s visit when my blood work wasn't the greatest! So I have lost 18 pounds so far! Tonight the lady came back and brought us a plate of huge six inch square homemade cinnamon rolls covered with icing! If I eat one I will proably gain the whole 18 pounds back! Its like dangling a bucket of oats in front of a starveing horse!
She's a Blue Cochin and she's gorgeous!Quote: they are gorgeous! I just love those fluffies! hey joe, those chicks i have of yours are wonderful! i still need to get some pics- they love attention!
here is a pic of my surprise chick from licorice the cochin who is hatching some banty faverolles, i am positive she played a joke on me and snuck her chick into the pile- she is a black cochin and captain is a lemon blue...

From what I've experienced so far over the past few months with trying to get the house ready, let alone find a trustworthy realtor, it's something I wouldn't want to go through very often. The last time I bought / sold a house was in 1988 when I bought this house, and things have changed somewhat since then. It's wearing me down just getting this far with it, and I still have a ways to go. I just hope that I get a buyer quickly so this will all end. I'm about at my rope's end with it all. On the upside, though, I'm looking forward to having a place out of the city - away from blaring emergency sirens, car alarms, airplanes flying low enough to see the pilot and looking out the window only to see another house 20 feet from mine. It will be nice to get away from all of that.![]()

I found some morels so had them, Poke, and duck eggs it was wonderful and still have plenty to take to work for lunch tomorrow, pealing the stems and just boiling them made them very tender and tasted very much like asparagus.
