***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Evening everyone. Haven't been on much lately. Seeems we are so busy anymore. Took some extra chicks to a swap this morning and got rid of them. Brought home a beautiful Silver Spangled Hamburg roo, bantam, No hens were available but he was so nice I couldn't resist him. May bring him to the eastern meet in case someone needs one for new bloodline.
Wife is still looking and applying for jobs. Had an interview for one in Tulsa this week, wouldn't that be great! With the lower income comming in I have downsized to just my icelandics and pigeons and my rabbits. Oh well that leaves more time to tend the garden and yard! Both of which are doing good.
Sounds like our weather is like yours NaNa,cold this morning and hot this afternoon.
Well hope everyone gets great deals at the auctions tonight. Catch you all later.

Just got back from the Chupps auction in Inola, OK. It was too hot and the auctioneers were spread too thin. It seemed to take forever for each to complete his row and start a new one.

I sold 16 birds and my check was, shall we way, too small to matter. I don't think I will be selling there again until next year. There were hardly any sellers, and the buyers ware paying pennies for some really good birds.

I missed bidding on a big tin-sided dog house for Vesta. She has eaten her last two houses, so it's time to move her into a house she can't chew. Maybe I should break down and build it myself. I could make the same doghouse as I made before, but cover the exterior walls with tin instead of painting the wood.

I found a neat knitting machine at the auction for our granddaughter. I hope all the pieces are in the box. The box had been rained on so it was very soggy and weak, so I didn't want to destroy it completely by trying to see all of the contents. I'll try it myself tomorrow to make sure it's functional. I wonder if I could make a knit chicken for N.E.O.C.S.?

I need to go make sure all the animals have water. Today was hot, and DH checked once but probably didn't study the level of the water in each waterer. I'll check back tonight, if I don't crash and burn early. Because it rained most of yesterday and all of last night, it was 4:00 a.m. before I could collect the birds I wanted to take to Chupps. I'm not good an no sleep, at least the on purpose no sleep. I guess I'm getting old. Talk to everyone later.

I didn't know him but I'm sorry you lost a friend. Seeing your post makes me realize how real everyone here is and not just words on a computer screen,

I answered your other post, but yes-BanJoe will have some.
And like I said-since I went with incubating eggs instead my greedy-chicken-fingers aren't getting any of the chicks so there'll be more for you all

GunMama (where on earth did you get that name? lol) I'm glad your little cockerel is doing better!

That's the most awesome color! OceansEven has a baby Spangled cockerel she's wanted to place if you know of anyone who'd like one of the little guys. And that's just how all of them are that I've ever had. Tuck them under your arm for 10 minutes and they're your best friend for life!
You can have ducks without a pond. I do. As long as they have deep enough water to clean there whole beaks. I had a lone Mallard duck for 5 or 6 years that thought she was a dog. Never had a pond.

This was to jfrancis as he mentioned some buckeyes. IDK how to work this forum thng too well. Thanks.
BFrancis does have Buckeye's, you might want to send him a PM move your mouse over his user name, you see the drop down arrow, that will give you the option to send a private message, many of us miss things posted on the forum for us but a PM will get to him very well. You should be well pleased with his birds he does work hard on them and knows them well.
