Yep, they spend 3 weeks in the house in a brooder, then move to rabbit hutches for 3 weeks with a light then off to a Aframe or a grow out pen depending on space.  Wish we were going to Blanchard this weekend but it has to wait, you can bet we will be at the auctions in July! LOL  Sad thing is we don't go to auction to buy birds anymore we buy junk and visit more than anything else.

My next question is how long do you keep them in the rabbit hutches but you already answered that so thank you. Sorry about you not getting to come to the auction. Will have to come see you for fireworks soon.

We are at the anadarko swap in the pouring rain. DD sold 51 keets so far-- plus swapped a few for other things people had here. Hopefully when the rain lets up she will unload the rest.
People don't seem to mind the rain. They are still buying veggies while holding onto their umbrellas.

It is funny isn't it? We sell more fireworks when it is pouring rain, it is crazy but if it starts raining we know we better be ready because people will be standing out there in lines with umbrellas wanting to buy.

That shrub is vitex, chaste tree, monks tree. They are wonderful plants easy to grow from root of stem cuttIngs.

I would correct you on one thing, though. I don't love my chickens. I like them fine, some more than others, but love none of them. Sooner or later, they are ALL going to end up on a dinner plate, so I go out of my way not to get attached. Ironically, I like my Cornish Cross best, and they are all destined for freezer camp in the very near future.

I do love my dogs, though, and don't plan to eat them.

A trellis attached to the side will train plants up and over the coop.

I saw online somewhere, can't remember where now, someone had a kind of apron thing, with pockets in it for dirt, and they had planted things in those pockets and hung it on their a frame. It was made out of a type of landscaping plastic. I was going to try to recreate it using used feed sacks. Worst that can happen is I throw it away.

Layena feed bags will last one season. The sun really leaches them out.

The 2nd pic is the Brown Red and the White Bantam Ameraucana. They're so big already, look at all their wing feathers and they've even got tail feathers-at only 1 week.
Then the 4x6x6 tall frame my daughter and I (mostly her) made yesterday. I think I'll do them this way from now on. I'm going to 'side' it with 6" wide pickets and cover it with roof panels. It's heavy, it's in one of the new 50x50 yards we build around a group of trees. My 4 Dark Brahma girls and 3 Lavender Ameraucanas are going there.

I don't pinch myvine tips unless I want really big pumpkins. I like a variety of sizes and think the foilage helps shade the fruit.
I bet there is a no difference in the chicks at all

i use 1 t p gallon and 1 c sugar(hides the taste) for treatment, 1/2 t for maintinance once a month
