Lynn, you can right click on the picture and ctrl + v (paste) it into the message reply box. That's the easiest way.
Les, you're very definitely needed around here. No one has your kind of health advice right at the tip of their tongue like you do.
Deanne, I'd love for you to be here also. You're one of the nicest people I know.

Here's the hawk flyby, with my flying phone and all the cursing edited out. You can see how close that annoying thing got though, and how brave little mama was.
Thats great that she wasn't afraid and her motherly instincts kicked in! I have heard of roos protecting the hens before, but never the hen doing it.

k this is a strange question. has any one ever hatched twin chickens befor? my daughter has and egg that she is sure is a double yoker. I have set it and am going to see what happens. Just thought i would ask those that have been doing this a while how it works out.
There was a lady who psted a video of a twin hatch. She had to help the second chick out of the shell..
I was really tickled to see that the first cutting of hay off the five acres that are cut able made 20 standard size round bales! And it's good hay too,a mix of Bermuda, and fescue with just a tiny bit of Johnson grass.with that kind of production I wonder how many head of cattle that five acres will support? naNa any ideal?
Hard to say....for winter, we plan .5 bales per cow . Young stock eat less.

Quote: Brave Mom and quick response from the chicks to her alert

Kinda funny, one of the taboo subjects on nearly every board are the animal rights groups. Tonight at the top of the page was an ad for the HSUS, so I believe it's time for me to go. BYC can't have it both ways, you can't take advertising money from them and not have the members talk about the groups either pro or con. Ya'll be good.

The AdChoices icon appears on sites that use Google's AdSense program to show ads. While Google often shows you ads based on the content of the page you are viewing, we also show some ads based on the types of websites you visit, view, or where you interact with an ad or other Google product supported by Google's advertising services. In doing this, Google doesn't know your name or any other personal information about you. Google simply recognizes the number stored in your browser on the DoubleClick cookie, and shows ads related to the interest and inferred demographic categories associated with that cookie. It's our goal to make these ads as relevant and useful as possible for you. Google doesn't create categories, or show ads, based on sensitive topics such as race, religion, sexual orientation, or health.

That prohibition was for q very specific animal rights group, Les, and it wasn't the Humane Society.
The Humane Society does wonderful things and it is the ASPCA. The humane society of the united states, HSUS, is another branch of the other very evil group that is unmentionable. If you look at the financial records of the two groups they constantly shift money back and forth and the goal of both is no animal ownership, whatsoever.

The first group was getting too much heat from the activity of their activists and their donations were starting to tank, enter the HSUS. Donations went up and the founders were flush again and all was right in their world.

They chose a good name because people that donate to them confuse them with the ASPCA and the local Humane Societys. Fact is they have no shelters, oh they do throw a few donations to local shelters but it is just a drop in the bucket to what they take in. Nearly all of the "grunt" work is done by volunteers that donate their time and money so they have nearly no overhead.

I hope that I have chosen my words carefully as to not endanger the thread. I am not trying to start a discussion on the subject just stating a few
facts. Research is what I'm good at, curious minds want to know. LOL
