I am so tired of broodies this year, have had the worst luck with mine, they break eggs, get off the nest early, eggs dissapear, I am ready to build an incubator!!! Am afraid to build one as if I do the wife may run me off, yall know how addicting hatching chicks can be!!! LOL I was thinkin I could gut the motorhome and set up an incubator and brooders in there, leave the bathroom in tact and maybe room for a bed!!! LOL LOL LOL Well we will see!! Anyone else's egg production drop like a rock??? I'm not begrudging the poor girls during this horrible heat I wouldn't want to lay an egg either.

Probably, but I'm not complaining. I just started getting a few eggs again because the snakes were eating all of mine.

I got canceled right before they put me under. Had me on the gernie with IVs in and everything. Flet like the condemned killer gettin a stay of exicution right before they pushed the button. Only I was much more ****** than the above mentioned guy. My whole week has been messed up do to having to stop several of my pills and giving myself lovanox shots in the stomach etc etc. After they hooked me up to the IV and got me ready to wheel in, I went to sleep. Woke up and a man in scrubs was standing by me and I thought, holy crap, Im done already. I was wrong. Seems like they only own one set of tools they can cut on your head with and some body didnt get them cleaned proper. Guess they couldnt clean them again to keep me from having to go thru this crap again but what the heck. What else would I have to do anyway. Ahhhhhhhh

What a PITA. I'm sorry. Hope you get it all settled soon.

has anyone or does anyone use a nipple water system? pros? cons?

I have a bucket nipple waterer. I love it. Never gets nasty. I'm not using it currently though. In this heat I think they need more water faster than the nipple system will give them, so I just have bowls of water set up for them.

LOL Coral I am not fond of Coffee ice cream or yogurt, but it is funny how things trigger memories from the past, I remember the awesome smell of the Folger's Instant coffee my great Grandma used to pour out in her saucer(when i mentioned this to my kids they looked at me funny!!! LOL ) in the mornings to drink with her breakfast!!! If i drink instant coffee it is Folger's, it is the richest coffee ever, I like my coffee strong enough to hold a spoon up in the cup anyways!!! Sorry for daydreaming off subject!!! Went out and watered chickens and put a wading pool in for the dogs, they are not sure about it yet but I bet they figure it out by days end!!! Lynn

I am considering investing in some of those little plastic kiddy pools for my birds. I know my CWs like to sit in their water bowl so wondering if they would like a small pool instead. But then my OCD side comes out and says "yes but it will get nasty pretty quickly". My dogs love going for a swim in the pond during the afternoons and then finding a nice shaddy spot in the yard to dig a hole to lay in, lol.

I have a small and a medium kiddie pool. The ducks swim in the small one, but they don't like to get into the medium one so it stays pretty clean and everyone drinks out of it. I just have to clean out the little one a couple times a day.
