I guess I did, didn't I?? lol! I'm really glad to hear he retained his "swimming lesson". I'd have never thought it'd be that simple.

Mitzi we get the generator discount from Caddo electric. It is a special program they have & they even do the maintance on our generator.
We lost 2 young chickens to the heat but all the others have faired ok this weekend. Just finished canning up some cowboy candy. Not sure how long it will last DH plans on taking it to work for his guys to eat @ the range. Getting ready to go pick tomatoes & okra.
Cathie I heard one of the schools FFA (I think) was selling okra pretty cheap by the bushel. I can try to get you some more info, but I forgot the details.

Too funny! I'm jealous, lol, you had ritzy neighbors to tick off and you've gotten to move to the country already. Our neighbors have piles of trash everywhere and falling down buildings, etc and there house is so filthy and stuffed with crap you can't walk through it. Yeah, sure, we're the problem. I have no idea what our nickname is in our neighborhood but all of the neighbors except these people next door love our eggs and jelly and fresh produce that we share. These people are just whackos! She kept screaming at us "why don't you just move to a farm and take those **** chickens with you?" and I thought, "from your mouth to God's ears lady". We literally give away our eggs and extra vegies for free to our neighbors and always take them jam and jelly we make but not to them any more. Another day, another busted blood vessel.

Love your hoop house. I surmise from the placement of the bell waterer you are day ranging? What you got in there?
We do day range. Tell me, how did you guess from the waterer though? I just hung it from a convenient branch. :D I have mostly Dominiques in there. I have my five layers and one rooster, and then about, oh, lemme think. . . 23 chicks. I have some guineas, but they roost in the tree branches over head. I've got a 12 week old faverolles pullet, and a pair of cochin bantams and a silkie. I still have another cochin bantam and her ten chicks: six Dominiques, two Cochins and a couple of Cochin/Silkie crosses in the ark. Those little ones aren't quite big enough to hold their own with the grown ups yet.

I don't know how long you have been in Dover but I miss Meade's watermelon stand that was on the S end of town. The melons he grew rivaled the melons you get from Rush Springs.
Oh I remember those dover melons. I would always stop and buy some to take to my parents in Alva as I was driving in from the city... How come such wonderful stuff goes away...

Well it's done, I had to put the Lil' girl down this morning. She couldn't drink or eat without coughing?sneezing what ever it was she was doing. All birds seem to be taking the heat good, I keep frozen bottles of water in there water bowls. I have put out a Lil' swimming pool for them and they'd rather drink out of it than get in it. Planning on going to pick up 4-more pullets next Sat. My wife says that's not a fair trade, Cull one bird and get 3 extra too take its place. LOL..
I'm so sorry. You really tried to save her.

Ksane:
My husband says that tree was made to have that hoop house under it. He's gonna take the credit since he had to saw off a whole bunch of dead branches to clean up the arch for it. :)

Evidently Logan Co isn't as generous :-/ 20% is a heck of a discount!
