***OKIES in the BYC III ***

The weather has been so nice the last couple of days! I wish it would continue forever. It's good growing weather, the birds are easy to take care of, I can spend lots of time outside doing stuff ... They're talking highs in the mid 80's by next weekend.

Well, I just wanted to check in quick. Gotta run and eat some brisket and potato salad and cole slaw then get a new garden bed put together and filled. Tomorrow will be a loooooooong day as our oldest son leaves for college. He'll only be an hour away but it seems like a million miles.

Christina, THANK YOU for the referal to Zenni Optical!!! Jennifer's glasses came in today! She got three pair and while one pair of frames are a bit big for her face IMO she loves them. I am going to order Nathanael a pair of sunglasses from there and me a second pair this week. It is good that Jennifer can now see where she is going and what she is doing, lol. I still am in awe that she got 3 pair for under $40 shipped!

Yes! A huge thank you from me also, Christina! I can't believe the awesome prices! My son's yearly eye exam is next Saturday. When I saw your post about the optical place I sent him a link and he's got glasses picked out. He only picked out 1 pair though so I told him he'd better get at least 3 or 4 pairs picked out for that price.
Thank you!!!

So glad y'all have taken advantage of zennioptical! We love their glasses. Think we have purchased 20 pr. My eye doctor doesn't like us shopping there. My aunt has worked at the same eye dr for 15 yrs & they approved the glasses. Think my eye doctor just wants us to purchase our glasses in his office.

hi everyone, i am totally exhausted- this nice weather coaxed me outside to get caught up on things- unfortunately once i get started i don't want to quit- but the bantams have a new coop, not fancy, but much sturdier, the silkies have a play yard, in a few days i'll do them a coop- how much room do ten silkies need???

sad about matt, seeing as he was a bycer for awhile, but that kind of sentence is necessary

we off to the shower and relax a bit

Evening all, I enjoyed the evening at a party for my sister and BIL, they celebrated their 30th Anniversary today, we had some wonderful food and visited with a lot of old friends and family not seen in a while, with my back hurting so much lately I have not been out much to the chicken yard, I love this weather, now maybe I can stand the heat long enough to got out and see them, I do miss taking care of my birds myself, my wife and kids do a wonderful job but I always find stuff I want done differently, I would not have them if not for my wife and kids and I am thankful for that, I am very envious of those here that can get out and work gardens and have greenhouses and such, this was my dream for retirement before my back and legs went and I had two heat exhaustion attacks, I have worked and read and experimented and tried all kinds of things throughout my life in preparation for retiring and having a self sufficient farm and greenhouses set up to have income to support us. I am so ready for my back to be operated on and maybe get back to my life, I never gave much thought to what would happen if my health went down because I have been healthy and strong all my life, I guess God has to smack you down once in a while to get your attention so he can get you in line for his plan for you!! IMO!!! Hope you enjoy this weather, we still need rain severely!!! Have a good night, Lynn

I'm sure with my luck I'll see him on the yard at work,

Had an interesting morning apparently someone stole an ipad from a person a few miles away from here and the built in tracking system indicated it was in the east end of my trailer house. So I needed to get to the pharmacy before it closed at noon and the deputy says if I leave he was gonna have to call the detective out and get a search warrant, I am not the best housekeeper and that was the only thing I had to hide but he agreed to let me leave if I didn't have the ipad on me and he searched my truck to make sure it wasn't in it, When I got back he had more deputies there and I let them look around in my house and they were satisfied with that I guess, I had tried to explain that it was unlikely it being in my house since the reason I don't own a cell phone is you can't get a signal in my house and a tracking signal in an electronic device would be about as useful, I think he thought I was lying about not getting a signal maybe but it sure made for an interesting day so far, Now I have to play catch up and try to get ready for the sale tonight

With this trailer a cell will ring in the master bedroom but to answer it one has to go to the livingroom. And don't worry about catching you on the throne, won't even ring there. My new stereo will only pick up KRXO which is ok because that is the one I normally listen to, they have a repeater station about 4 mile N of us.

Bill is there any way for Matt to open a new BYC account from the inside? I mean his ISP is blocked here now being banned and all but do they allow social sites from behind the walls? He has been inside before so I am sure he knows an angle or two.

Les, they can't have access to the internet. They have friends and family put up profiles and stuff for them trying to get people to write to them but they don't have any direct access.
(Thank God I might add).

Robin, I meant to tell you-I'm glad you got out and got so much done. I push myself so hard and somehow just can't make it back inside until I'm completely exhausted when I get started on this chicken stuff. You'll be sore tomorrow but it sure feels good to take a shower and get sat down after being outside building all day, doesn't it??

Yes it's quite a jolt to not be able to do things you normally do. While I was down Teva was working, taking care of the critters, the place and me. There is no way that I could ever begin to repay her for all she did for me. And my granddaughter Alexis spent as much time with me as she could. She made sure that there was always something cold to drink and snacks within reach. At meal time she brought my plate to me and then brought hers back so she could eat with me. She was my eyes for the birds too telling me about all of them after she helped take care of them.

After my surgery I was getting around pretty good and one day I didn't know Alexis was there and came out of the bathroom with no shirt on. She saw the scar on my back and to this day swears that I had a broken back. Now I'm not allowed to pick up anything heavy without her help.

If Teva would have seen me hand off my walker to a friend and crawl up into the cab of a semi she would have shot me right on the spot. LOL Shesh all I was doing was backing a trailer into a tight spot, not like I was hauling a load or anything.
