Hope a few of you saw rain tonight. Suppose to be close to us now, but will be surprised if we see any of it.

Robin sorry this heat has hit your flock so hard. Hopefully this wk is the last of it.

Girls start band today, hopefully they enjoy this semister better. We tried 2 yrs ago & they thought it was torture (even though it was their idea). If lessons are still a fight then I am not battle them.

Cathy hope co-ops are going well, we are not doing any regular classes this yr. Just taking it slow, since 3 hours of school can sometimes be 10 hours with my girls now that we are on the farm. In town there was visitors, phone calls & sudden reasons to interrupt school...... But much more interruptions on the farm at times. Somehow today they had breakfast & finished almost all their school in about 2 hours---- rare occasion this semister!

Good morning Christina and good morning to all! A little thunder rolled me out of bed about 4:30, I had to run down to the barn and shut the window.....we did n`t get much more than a light shower that barely got the deck wet but it did cool things off a bit. I have a 8` X `12 wall to paint today providing the rain holds off long enough. Cooler temps are in the forecast for this weekend and I`m sure we all here are ready for it!

I hope y`all have a great day!

Nana, thanks for the tip about the Raid bug bombs. I'd thought about doing that, but don't have any idea how many I'd need. When we renovated the small Dutch barn, I used the bombs in it as it had been empty for nearly 20 years.

Surprised this morning to hear first crowing from a 20-day old silkie! There are only 3 babes in this Sterelite brooder in the computer room, and I'd already thought it was a cockerel from size and attitude! Just shrill squeaks, but so funny!

I'd love to hear that!

At my age, rolling out of bed in the morning is easy...getting up off the floor is another story.

For our house, 3 bedroom, big living room, kitchen and den with bath and 1/2....5 cans spread out thru the house with inside doors open so the fog can go everywhere. I open all storage and closet doors and under sink doors too. I put edibles inside an ice chest...like fruit, potatoes. I also tuck up the bed skirts so the fog can move under the beds.

Betsy, my 3 LF Cochin boys didn't crow til they were 7 months old, I've got 2 LF Cochin boys now that are 4 months old and not a squeak out of them so they'll probably be way older when they crow also.
But these little Bantam Ameraucanas? I was shocked to hear one crow at 4 wks old lol Huge difference between breeds.
