hi i sawl you guys in the red poops shirts and meent to say hi but my back is out and i could hardly stand strait and had to take some pain pills just to get through the night thanks for coming out i was the one calling out what the birds where the mille flures and the porcelin duccle where mine and i hope they do well for youWe have had a big ol' chicken filled weekend so far. Friday we moved the 2nd hoop house and one more of the A-Frames. Then hubby and I decide we are going to Coweta to the auction. Left home at 3 and still didn't make it there until 6:30 so missed all the chicks, stuff and eggs. It was definetly a buyers night. We came home with a truck load of pullets. So have lots of birds in quarentine at the moment. Got 5 Barred rock pullets (5months old) $6 each, Nathanel got a porcialin OEGB pullet, 2 spangled oegb pullets and 2 blue oegb pullets all for $4 each. Then Kurt got 3 more partridge banty cochin pullets for $4 each, 2 milli felur duccle pullets $12 each (yes I paid dearly for these but they are soooooo pretty!) , and one porcelin duccle pullet $6. Then my highlight of the night I got two pair of lavender orpingtons!!! I was so excited to come home with them! I want to find a few more pullets to go with these but they are just beautiful!!! Met lots of nice chicken people. While the building had horrible sound in it for hearing everything in the begining this is one well run auction! They moved fast last night but then again they had over 2500 animals there between birds and rabbits. We left around midnight (and came home a quicker way than we went, hubby can't say the back roads are faster anymore, lol) and we got home around 2.
Then this morning went to Perkins. They were light on the birds but sold one pair of Jack's buff brahma bantams and he made $24 for the pair. Lot more than I figured he would since the rest of the birds were going cheap! There were three golden sebright roos that only brought 25 cents each. Sold the last of my roos I didn't need here and came home with 10 bales of hay for the pens for this winter.
Spent the rest of this afternoon moving Kurt's coop he built and getting all the birds in their winter homes. We still have one set of pens to move but I think we will save those for another weekend. Tomorrow I plan on doing a bit of sewing after we get home from church and taking a nap! LOL
Good morning all! Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful weekend weather!! Have a great day!!! Lynn
