***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Been wondering how you were MJ. Didn't know you started working. Hope all is well.

Had a stray dog show up this evening while we were feeding birds. It ran straight up to the girls. Still a puppy, not smart enough to be scared of my dogs growling at it. I am guessing terrier lab mix. Taron thinks it is her new best friend because it picked her.

Those game chicks are now running wild around our yard. They will go in to eat but don't want to sleep in the coop, I am not going to battle it & let them live the life they desire free & happy.

I have two broody girls right now. One is sitting on 2 LF Cochin eggs. I want to replace the 3 chicks I lost to the dog attack so I don't mind brooding a few this fall. I have only 1 hen laying right now so I went ahead and wormed everybody.

Sdsknifeworks I vote you go get 3 or 4 chicks from atwoods. Go quick before they sell out!! That poor hen NEEDS some babies!!
Lots of thunder out, wondering how far away the rain is. New meds I started this wk have curved my pain greatly. Make me feel a tad tipsy at times, hope it all balances out & I can get back to normal!
I agree! I'm dancing a happy jig when one of mine goes broody!

i thought i had lost one of the faverolle hens- the coop is 4 x 8, so i am going all over looking- panicing of course- go back in and she is on the tarp i had hung to keep them dry from the drippy roof...laying an egg! She sees me, hops into my hand and lays the egg!!

miss broody is still at it- darn her anyway... she just started laying0 what i do with them if they go broody is just keep taking the eggs- i love watching mamas and chicks, but not with cold weather around the corner

What a gift! How many people can say they have had an egg delivered right into their hand?
