Psh, you should see me at an auction. I literally hold my hand down until I get the go-ahead (from Dad) on something

Why are my chicks out to get me
he.gif
I had another set hatch yesterday, so I was out there at 10:00 last night finishing up with their new brooder and everything. I did not have another waterer, but I didn't want them to go with out water until I get a new jar in the morning (even though they did not have to have water yet, since they just hatched). So, being the considerate person I think I am, I find this tiny plastic container, fill it with water, and make sure they all know how to drink out of it. This morning, I have find two chicks that apparently tried to "snuggle up" with the water! How in the world did they think getting in a container of water would keep them warm! Why did they not just step out over the tiny side! One had already drowned (HOW!!!???) and the other one is not doing very well

It's like I try everything to give them a good life, them almost every day it seams I loose one to something or other

well if your sellin something its best to be there by 7 so you can get your stuff in the front of the line or i do.only thing i can tell you is that if you see something your wanting you pretty much have to stand over it so you can get a bid in its really crowded sometimes./i always bring a chair cause the auctions goes till 3 or 4 sometimes

I figure God knows just how many chickens He wants me to have at any one specified time and He can adjust the numbers accordingly...

Unfortunately by any method He chooses....

Ok I Bottle feed 10 calves bottles of milk then I go take care of the turkey and chicken that get game feed. I am laughing trying to figure out how I feed a poult a bottle. But I do pour milk in a dish and let them have some once in a while.
Can you see giving 100 poults plus a 100 chickens, age three months to one week old a bottle? I go crazy at time feeding 10 bottle calves and it be up to 20 extra week. I would never have time to eat or sleep.

Cubbs sale
Word of warning if you get a pile of say lumber or tile, leave someone there to guard it.

We got stuff there for years and have had a problem with poeple trying to take our stuff. One lady got the group of tile four groups away from mine and she tried to take some of mine. I walked up and told her that would be a $50 for the tile she just put on her pile.
She said Oh if I have to pay for it I don't want it. I just thought you might not need all of it and won't care of I took a few.
I said sure you can have it AFTER I go get what I WANT out of your pile. She said well you sure are hatefull, here your darn tile.
I said thanks and I will take the other box of tile that mind, too. Of course if you want it it be $150 just because your wasting my time.
I got my tile and everyone around us was yelling, that the way to handle poeple like her. She load up and left the sale. They said she had been doing that for several weeks. That why someone got my attention in the first place I was bidding on somethin elses.
How I watch real closes.

Thank you Ok lighting~ any other tips would be helpful, I will be a newbie and have no idea what I am about to walk into.....is there more than one auction going on at a time or do they just move from pile to pile?? I see from the pics that there are just row of stuff.

well they have several auctions going at the same timei usually run back an fourthif im wanting some both places.the poultry all sell up from under the pole barns an everything elsa is on back.most bring several people to bid on stiff.an do watch what you buy because people will load an run with your poultry.i lost $355 worth of stuff.found the cages back in the parkin lot empty they had stuffed them in their cages they had bought.i think they have about 4 auctioners going at a time

Auctions like that really irritate me! For the most part, around here things are fairly calm. You can make a pile out of the way and folks leave it alone. About the only thing I have seen people try to make off with is copper!
