morning

eating some ice cream after pulling weeds and playing with chicks.

P&B - the kittens have been accepted and loved on! One is named socks for the cute little socks! The other is working on earning a name but sure is cuddley! You are only in minor trouble with the wife! She hasn't played with them yet...ran out the door early for an Emmaus deal...silly church folks!

Al - my friend...I am so sorry you had to go off and have such a young lady...but it would appear as though she has some of your spark in her! Revenge!

Always neat to see folks raising such good children! Hats off to Nana and Papa! Y'all are ding the Lord's work! Shawn is a neat boy as well...wish we were closer so the boys could spend some time together. I like kids that are good influences that my boys can look up to and realize that hey there are others that share our values.

What was that...oh yes i will have another ice cream...LATERS!!

Stray - I like your new signature line. If there is such a thing as "mad chicken disease" I suspect many of us have it

TJ's nana - good explanation of how talking to others helps us resolve our problems ourselves, by clearing out the cobwebs enough that the sun can shine in.

I am going to candle the eggs in the sportsman incubator and see if I can find enough room to add the ones I got from TJ's nana - so I don't have to start another hovabator to have room for them.

good luck .....keep your heads down Okes....looks like a long night.....CYAs

Thanks henny- yep, dave is trying to batten down and get it done, we are so close to getting it finished- if the weather would cooperate!

i've been giving her the vinegar water, oil is mixed with her yogurt, applesauce baby cereal mix, and i am trying to massage her crop, its getting less firm, so maybe things will start moving soon- earlier she was having a hard time breathing, she is better now...

We made it home just in time to go to the ballgame. We had a ton of rain but not enought to cancel the game

Shaun was sssooooo wanting a rain out!!

Rascal Flatts was playing at Buffalo Run last night (it is about 5-7 miles from the house) The turnpike was VERY congested and I got off the exit BEFORE ours and there was a HUGE line to get off there too. Our exit was backed up 10 miles. Thank goodness I had my mom's pike pass I got to bypass all of them!! It was almost like a get out of jail free card

John called and warned me about the traffic.

Thanks everyone for the nice visit at lunch I really look forward to spending more time with my extended "family".

Teach I wish you guys wasn't 6 HOURS away Shaun and your boys have a lot in common. Hunting, fishing, baseball and such. I am sure that they could cause lots of trouble together.!! LOL

Well we are off to take Shaun and one of his friends swimming! No baseball today so he can swim! YEAH.

Just feel like I need to say this.......Nope, no magic wands here....
no super good kids, no "kudos" earned........... We're just
winging this just like all the other parents on here. Bill raised
two daughters and I had three sons.....and all of our experience,
combined, ain't making it any easier this go-round......... Trust
me, we have our "moments"...our "days"....and sometimes our
"months" at a time.

All we can do is "draw a line", "hold the line", and be there when
the "smoke clears"............

But, will have to say that ALL of our POOPS kids, whether or not they always show it at home, do seem to have listened and learned....in spite of themselves..........LOL And, it's such a
special group that we can share and care when one of "our"
kids is stumbling around a corner.

Will never forget....TJ was about 3...and Bill's Dad gave him a
fresh peach and he devoured it.....then Na-Na went hunting for
the pit........... I called the Emergency Room and asked the
doctor, "What I should do?".......... He laughed at me and said.....
"And this too shall pass."

I'm betting on ALL of our POOPS kids, Dakota included.

Have a good one !

I'm stuck at work for another 10 hours of overtime on a beautiful hot Oklahoma Saturday
barnie.gif
And, I'm missing an auction at Blanchard tonight. I probably wouldn't be able to enjoy it much anyway. I'm exhausted from all the overtime & lack of sleep.

Gerald has gone to the Blanchard auction today though. He took some of our hatching eggs and some chicks with him, but he doesn't intend to give 'em away, he said. I just hope he doesn't bring them all back home. Hopefully he comes home with less than he started with ... birds & eggs that is .... I wouldn't mind him coming home with more money!

It sounds like everyone that went to the NPIP thingy & lunch really had a good time. We definitely need to have another big get-together.

I hope everyone stays safe from the possible severe weather.

The auction is still going on. Gerald called me when they were having a break a little while ago. He said he PO'd some of our hatching eggs and bought a bunch of bantam hatching eggs & some chicks, but he didn't tell me much about them. He said he could hear them starting the auction back up again so he didn't talk for long. He said there were some white cochin chicks that went for $8 each! That seems a bit high for chicks! Anyway, he said there weren't as many birds or people there as usual, but still quite a lot.
