I have been lurking - reading almost everyday, but not able to think of anything interesting to say.

I am delighted to see the POOPS Again! announced for September 26 and that you have posted KOA information. I am looking forward to it.

I haven't checked my big hive yet to see if there is honey, but I will bring raw honey from a fellow beekeeper if I don't have any of my own to bring. Raw honey never spoils, so I always have some in the pantry.

Glad to see you online and hear that you are feeling better. You were a pretty sick puppy there for awhile.

Stimp - it is good to see that you are visiting us again. I just need to remember to swallow my gulp of ice water before I read your posts, so I don't have to clean the computer screen after reading.

Teva is already eyeballin' birds to bring. Should have a few Oriental games that I can spare by then. But I am going to try to use this as an excuse to plug the incubator back in!

P&B you are always interesting. Have those hens hatched you any babies yet?

I agree - it was a good day and I got my office work mostly finished this evening so I will sleep well.

When I went to bed last night, my computer wasn't communicating with the wireless mouse, the USB mouse or the touchpad mouse on my other keypad. I was really wishing I had subscribed to the back-up service provided by BethinOkla. Fortunately, after being turned off overnight my computer decided it could speak to the touchpad mouse on the old keyboard, so I was a happy camper. The virus scan didn't find anything wrong, so when I get some time I will try the wireless mouse and keyboard again to see if they have decided to get along with the computer again. (yes, I changed all the batteries in the mouse and the keyboard)

This morning there were two fuzzy babies running around with two Malay hens that have been sitting side by side in different nest boxes for weeks. One hen hatched her eggs and the other one (the one with the most eggs of course) apparently decided hers weren't going to hatch, so she appears to have abandoned them. Anyway, it was fun to watch both hens teaching the two chicks how to scratch in the litter on the floor of the shed. I put out a shallow drinking fount, so the babies wouldn't drown in the 4 inch deep water tub that all the others in that pen drink from. I hope the hens recognize it is for "their" babies.

I still have one Malay hen in a pen with some ducks. She is protecting them from any chicks or keets that are unfortunate enough to get into the pen.

I sure wish guinea moms were as attentive to their young as the Malays are. The guineas seem to hatch out a couple of keets and then let them run loose while they wait for the rest of the eggs in the nest to hatch - which may not happen. The keets run around looking for somewhere to call home.

Yes, ya'll have spoiled me on the oriental game hens. I think I need a rooster to go with my Malays, along with some more oriental game hens.
