I am back
After two weeks of no computer because Windows crashed plus 5 days of being in the hosptiol, I am going to be a month getting all the post read.
A few questions
1. Was the horse returned?
2. When do we need to have our items for the raffles there that Sat? We can spend most of the day and can come a lot earlier but still have to be home by late evening.
3. My 3 pounds Yorkie killed three of my baby turkeys and my black little hens I got from Carla at Afton. I would have shot her but she a 1200 dollar breeder. Plus she excepting.
Carla would you have two more of then and two white ones? I could get them at Poop.
They were the grandkids pets and they keep asking where they are.

I will be reading PM tomorrow and will try and answer any that come in while I was down. Hope I didn't upset anyone by not answering right back.

Carla I hatched 6 of the 11 turkeys
Chickens did n't do so good.

OK Lightening - sorry you were in the hospital and hope you are feeling better. A computer crash is annoying, but hopefully wasn't the frustration that put you in the hospital.

Good morning everyone what a beautiful morning!!I woke up to a surprise about 3am I heard a commotion and went outside and all my chcikens were outside roosted on the fence!! So I checked the coops and for varments and nothing to be found!! They were in the coops when I went to bed! I don't know if maybe someone had bad gas or what!!!!

Good Morning You Okies!!!!! Great weather we are having enjoy it if you can!!!!

Buckguy, did not see the article on the tuttle creature but I live on a creek in Tuttle and have seen a Bob cat in my yard 2

times and my DH has seen him once. One time my neighbor and I caught him in my maple tree chased a squirle out of the

tree and the other my other neighbor and I caught him chasing a wild turkey. 2 of my other neighbors have seen

too. My DH caught him standing beside the chicken coop and dreaming of chicken dinner. He was not nearly scared

of us when he saw us. Called game ranger, who said he must be really hungry to be out in the middle of the day and not

acting scared. I think it was feeding kits. The game warden said we could shoot him or trap him and haul him off or he

would come and get him but if we hauled him offf to go as far away as El Reno. I would never haul him off to be someone

elses problem. Unless I could take him somewhere like a Wildlife Refuge. I have lost 2 hens I know he/she got them while

they were free ranging. Don't know if this is their creature or not. Could be? Keeping the gun loaded and ready and of

course haven't caught him again. Now I have to stay outside with free rangers and only for 1 or 2 hours before dark.

They are not happy at beeing locked up so long but am down to 2 layers. Have chicks but it will be a while before

start laying.

Y'all have a super day. Cindy

After the very fun and successful spring 2009 POOPS event there was much interest in having a fall event, we felt that we surely must let this fine tradition continue in all it's fanfare. with continued support We will strive to make this event even bigger and better than ever as our fine members deserve only the best. For those of our new members and members who were unable to attend the Okies in the BYC POOPS, it is a family oriented affair, where members come to meet the folks we talk to everyday on this forum, and enjoy the one thing we all have in common our fondness of poultry. This year promises to be one you do not want to miss, and as I stated it will be bigger and better than ever, this year we are planning the following.

1. Food : This year we will be featuring a full pot luck lunch and dinner.
2. Poultry : The usual fanatical buying/selling/swapping of poultry.
3. A night of fun filled entertainment at the clubhouse. featuring song and dance numbers w/ live music and skits, along with a wheel of misfortune.
4. Several static displays for your learning and viewing pleasure.

Monty and Myself will be posting more specifics and details on these areas in a later post. As always Monty will be seeking Donations for the clubhouse rental and the cabin reservation info at KOA. We tried so very hard to choose a date for this event that would fit 99.9% of are available members, the weather, POOPS planning and reservation schedule, and local and regional events. The good folks at KOA have been so gracious to have invited us back and we recieved some very good positive feedback from are members, that this was a good fit for our needs. As a group we are known for are steadfastness once we set our minds to a task, it is now up to each and every one of us to come together and contact the appropriate principle to offer any help and suggestions, ya'll know the drill. The principle heads will start to post a list of names and services volunteered as it begins to come together in their areas.

So Okies let the festivities begin in the tradition of the most poplular group thread on this BYC forum.

POOPS AUCTION INFORMATION

We Okies in the BYC are proud to announce the first annual POOPS live auction, to be held on the Saturday the day of Fall POOPS 2009

The auction is open to all attending and will be offered in 2 segments, the first part of the auction is for items that are donated and the proceeds will go toward the POOPS fund to help pay for the many expenditures POOPS have incurred. The second portion of the auction is a for profit live auction just like all normal auctions. We want to try and make this auction a success for all future POOPS events and our members to enjoy and benifit from.

Auction rules as follows ;

1. Check in time for items in both auction segments is as soon as you can, to enable folks to view the items up for auction.

2. Non-live poultry items should maintain a poultry theme, I.E.= art's & crafts etc.

3. All poultry must be caged or in a suitable enclosure, cages will not be sold with the poultry unless specified by auctioneer.

4. PO's will be honored in all fairness during the live for profit segment only.

5. Bid numbers will be issued to all who want them prior to the auction start time.

6. When the auction is finished we encourage all buyers to check out first followed by the sellers, so we can have an orderly checkout and have the proper funds available to pay out.

7. All cages and items will be numbered by the auction staff, and it is encouraged that you lable your own breeds for better identification to avoid any confusion and benifit both buyer & seller.

8. It is asked that all buyers wait till the end of the auction before gathering up their purchases assited by the auction staff. there may be the opportunity to also buy choice of a particular Lot, if this happens the bidder should have an empty cage available and close by.

9. The auction staff will not be running an active post on what is being brought for sale, but we do have a running post as to a wish list as to add fairness to the event.

10. There will NO commissions or Taxes of any kind held back from the buyers and sellers alike.

Well another exciting day at the Rhodes Estate. My chickens have the snarkies. Why does that happen every time the temp goes below 70 degrees? I watched em for a couple days then drug out the LS-50. They don't seem lethargic or anything. Just sneezing their heads off. I thought at first that it was dander from all the molting.....heavens there is dander everywhere! And it seems confined mainly to pollacks and banties...so far. Monty if you are running a closed flock dont think ya want those roos. It's not MG, but it is something. SO I am trying to get them going....Does anyone know the withdrawal period for eggs on LS-50? I have stared at the bottle forever and can't find it.....Is there a standard.....?

Grace your Mille is adorable. I want one. No more chickens for me...too much stress!

Anyway, if anyone has ideas on my snarkies...let me know.

Quote:
I believe the hold back on LS-50 is 14 days from the last dose, if they are just sneezing why don't you just rub some VetRX on there combs & wattles and a dab under the wings. This has worked for me in the past when they get the SNARKIES LOL henny's new medical terms.

Hey Whirlwind, where you been hiding?
The biggest part of the story was how something dashed in ans stole a lady's Yorkie. I don't think it was a cougar because a Yorkie would just be a snack.
They did say a lot of other pets had disappeared some sheep killed.
It could have anything from a fox to cougar I guess.

Is the tiger place in Tuttle missing any cats?

I am just about 3 miles or so from them. Wish I would of seen the story. I will watch them at noon and see if they repeat, it if its a slow news day. I have been thinking about coming to poops? I have been reading this post alot. My DH and I go to the antique tractor/engine shows so we are gone alot. I don't think we have any tractor/engine shows that weekend. DH might even go with me.
