Okies in the BYC The Original

Q...last winter was our first with chickens. We were getting so mad that we weren't getting hardly any eggs. We talked to some breeder folks at an auction and they told us to give them more light. The bad thing is we werent smart enough to ask "how much", left them all the time.

Now, we've since learned to put the timer on for an extra 2 hours of light a day and that should be enough. I do have to say we sure got the eggs out of those hens after leaving the light on.

The Gal's are really layin into us tonight what's the deal??. Must have been jealous of our wonderful figures, they get like that ya know LOL.

I made mine smaller than the one in the fact sheet but it is still bigger than I wanted.

Carah....I have one almost like it that we picked up at an auction...whomever made it had added a small handle on top to make it easier to carry...I love it better than any others we have. It isn't awkward to carry with the handle. I would love to have the time to make a few more. Oh well, I'll be Pa Kettle...gonna get "roundtoit". LOL

Carah...thanks for the link....you know the notebook you told me about that you're keeping your chicken stuff in....well I finally remembered to buy one and this is the first thing that's going in it.
