Good afternoon Stray -
I looked at the American Standard of Perfection and the Pea Comb looks like several rows of comb and the buttercup comb is two lines of comb that form a cup. Do you have a chick with multiple combs or are you trying to answer a trivia question?

I've got a chick that has three rows of comb.

How wonderful that your aunt is moving to Chickasha to be closer to your family!

The push-me-pull-you was my favorite Dr. Doolittle character. I remember drawing a picture of what I thought one would look like when I was in grade school.

Of course, I also agree with Stimp that Silkies look like a character from a Dr. Suess book.

Silkies do have a tendency to make one smile.

Sounds like a pea comb. Were you able to identify the comb type from the pictures that Buster posted? What color are the legs and is it clean legged or feather legged? My favorites, EEs have the pea comb and slate gray legs

Isn't it hysterical how the roosters have crowing contests?
Starlings and their electronic sounds? Are they able to imitate sounds?
I would love to see a video of the blue jay ringing the bell.

P&B,

Yes, I think we all enjoyed the formal events. If we were there as guests, the food was better and if we were on duty there, the tours were only 2 hours as opposed to 4. If it was a multi-service event, we especially liked it because we knew how much better our dress blues looked.

Les,

I saw the movie but I can't recall that particular scene. Every Marine takes a lot of pride in their uniform whether it's their dress blues or their day to day utilities. My dress blues are still hanging in my closet tho they seem shrunken somehow. I still wear my old utility cover when I'm working in the yard. My wife keeps my dog tags and medals in a box and drags that sucker out every time someone mentions the service.

Oh, man! I was sent to Okinawa at about the time that was happening. Because our unit had just formed, we didn't go and the battalion on float was handed that duty. They came back to The Rock afterwards so I was probably at the same base as your hubby while he was there. What unit was he in at the time? I was in Kilo company, Third Battalion, 4th Marines.

From my vague memory, the operation was a success, but was costly for our Marines.
