Wow what a quiet night looks like all that are on is doing well I just got up from a nap I feel like I am coming down with the crud that is going around I am hoping not I spent all day in the woods and didnt find anything bacuse the stupid neighbors coon dogs were out and running but there are going to be 2 less in the morning now we just gotta find the other 2!!! Hope everyone had a great day!!

Well, I made a killing at Flatcher auction tonight. I got a 5 foot rabbit cage with multiple compartments (don't know what those are called), some feeders, an automatic chicken waterer, and a Hova-bator, all for right at $20.00. Heck, come spring I'll be able to make more than my money back on the 'bator alone! So, in a sense, all that other stuff was free!!!

Dead night, though. The only redeeming factor was my bud Al was there. We had a good time chatting it up, he caught me up on some news, and I begged him to come back and join us on the Okies thread. But, he said he's not quite ready yet.

Seems a shame the guy who saved this thread isn't even here lately. Anybody else see the irony in that? It's just not as much fun. Who am I gonna tease about NFL football???

I gotta agree with Al, though. Fletcher is great for vultures I mean buyers like me who are out looking for deals and steals, but I just don't see how an auction that doesn't do better than this for the sellers has any long term prospects. I'm still pulling for them, but it doesn't look good.

Well she laid an egg, with alot of difficulty and alot of help. The Membrane around the egg dried as the egg was about half way out and became stuck, we had to cut the egg away after about 45 minutes of sitting in hot soapy water. then we put her in weak salt water afterwards. she seems happy with us now.

I sure wish we could have gone to the auction too, but I still have a bad cold and I think Gerald is coming down with it tonight. I don't want to share that with anyone else. I had to go to the Walmart pharmacy today & get some Sudafed. The other stuff just doesn't clear up the sinuses like it does. I just wish it wasn't a controlled substance these days.

I guess the next local auction is the Blanchard auction? Hopefully we can make it to that one. Somebody sure needs to downsize

Sounds like deer season is off to a good start! I saw aguy with two bucks on atrailer this morning. One was a typical Tn ,buck looked about 4 points,the other looked like an Okla deer! His rack was three times as big as the other! That guy really had a trophy for here. Usually a Tn rack will fit inside an Okla rack!
Took some pigeons and chickens to the local sale barn and dropped them off today. They did pretty fair,not great but I didn't loose any money on them so that was good.(makes the Dw happyier!). Freeded up a couple more pens so I can quit crowding things now.

Anyone else haveing Thanksgiving early like tomorrow? We are, We are going one direction and the local kiddos are going the other so we decided to have one early here so we could all get together. I have been baking all evening. Three pumpkin,and one cherry pie,cornbred for dressing,have the turkey ready to put in the oven when we go to bed,in the morning it comes out and the ham goes in while we are at church(we go to an 8:00 o'clock service),Then when we get home the dressing and sweet potaoes go in. Boy its lots of work pulling off a big dinner! I'm tired already!Lol.

Ronnie I'm still trying to send pics. It keeps comming back for some reason,may have to send them to City C and have her post them for me.

Brick - how does that weight compare to y'alls average size? I ask because out here you would be accused of killing bambi and in central Texas you would be accused of weight two deer at the same time! Last year Shawn kiilled two deer up here we killed 6 in Texas and we had the same amount of meat

I suspect that all the auctions will be a buyer's market until after Christmas, as folks sell off what they don't need to get some money for the holiday. With the holidays coming up, buyers aren't going to be buying anything that isn't a really good bargain - particularly if it isn't something they "have" to own this month.

I guess I have converted my DH, he brought me home a chicken tonight. A hen wondered up to his parents house, there isn't anyone in the area with chickens so we aren't sure how it got there but he caught it because it was driving the dog crazy and I'm sure it was scared too, it was almost dark & didn't have anywhere to go. I have it in isolation but over all it looks health & clean.

Buster I have to agree about AL, I miss him on the board. He is someone that has done so much for the OKie thread and our POOPS event. I hope at some point he comes back.
